   高級老人ホームで悠々自適な日々を過ごしていた菊島（山崎努）ら老人たち（谷啓、青島幸男）は、死んだ仲間・源田（藤岡琢也）が記していた「死に花」なるノートを発見。そこには、穴を掘って銀行から17億円を強奪する計画が記されていた。その銀行が、かつて仲間のひとり伊能（宇津井健）を理不尽にリストラした銀行であったことも手伝い、菊島たちはこの計画を実行しようと決意するが…。
   老人たちの一念発起とその奮闘を描いたコメディーで、太田蘭三の同名小説を『ジョゼと虎と魚たち』の犬童一心監督のメガホンで映画化。老人パワー炸裂映画という点もさながら、やはりベテラン名優たちの粋な活躍をこそ楽しみたい作品。日本映画界にはまだまだこうした名優たちが多数いることを改めて痛感させられる。犬童演出もそこを怠っていないところが、もっとも好感持てるポイントでもあるのだ。（的田也寸志）

はっきりいって世界の中心で愛を叫ぶやいま、会いに行きますよりよほど泣けます。老人ホームのグループの中で他界した人の銀行強盗計画を実行するという話です。円熟した役者さんや老いてもなお持っている強さに引き込まれていきます。最後のシーンまで目を離さないで見てもらいたい作品です。笑えて、泣ける珍しい邦画です。

隅田川からトンネルを掘って銀行から１７億を強奪するという計画にジジイ達が挑むという設定からして面白いし、火葬場のシーンだけでも素晴らしい。クリント・イーストウッドやトミーリー・ジョーンズの「スペース カウボーイ」には及ばないまでも「ジジイ映画」の傑作だと思います。
犬童一心は、「金髪の草原」でも老化をテーマとしたユニークなアプローチをしています。この映画では、「人生は楽しむためにあるもの」というのがテーマのようだけど、防空壕がらみのシークエンスにヒネリがあるし、菊島のボケの兆候、庄司の心臓発作といった暗い影もチラッと覗かせる。この、現実と夢、生と死を辛辣に描きながらも、ファンタジーとして愛に溢れているのがいいね。
ラストには、少々ツッコミを入れたいところだけど、ファンタジーととらえればいいか．．．。

豪華なベテラン俳優さんたちによる痛快コメディー。
でも、コメディーと言っても、声を出して笑うってんじゃなく、微笑ましくてニコリってする感じです。
人間、いつまでも青春だよなぁって思わせてくれる、年とったからといって引っ込んでなくても良いって思わせてくれる、今の時代に合った作品。
出演者全員が適材適所。
ある意味、すごいパワーを貰える映画です。
