   プラレールの編成車両シリーズ、ライト付きD51蒸気機関車。ランプが点灯する。単2乾電池1本使用(別売)。


このシリーズについて

   発売から40年以上が経つトミーのロングセラー商品。原型は1959年発売の『プラスチック汽車　レールセット』で、手で転がして遊ぶものだった。以来、組み立てやすくする、故障をなくす、などの改良は行っているが、基本的なモデルチェンジは行っていない。1960年代に小型モーター内蔵の3両編成のタイプを発売、現在も車両は3両編成が基本になっている。3歳の子どもがひとりでも遊べるほか、レールレイアウトを追加して走らせたり、さらに親が一緒になって街をつくる大掛かりなレイアウトを作り上げたりなど、遊び方の自由度が高いのも魅力。

おなじみプラレールの蒸気機関車、D51(デゴイチ)形式です。なぜかどの子供も蒸気機関車が大好きで、シューポッポと言いながら手にして遊びます。
単二電池が必要ですが、その電池の重みがなんともいえない重量感になります。D51本体のほか炭水車と客車がセットになっており、実際のD51の構成と同様です。連結部がやや弱く破損しやすいため「耐久性」の評価は辛口に付けましたが、それ以外は満足できる商品です。電源ONにするとライトが付くのも魅力のひとつです。

初めての買い物でしたが、他社より包装&商品への気配りが為されていて、親子で楽しめますし〜家などはまだ二歳と少しですが、跳びはねて追い掛け回ってますし、小さい子供さんでしたら、口に入れたり、投げたりしますが、この商品には心配無いと思います、子供の成長に合わせてのオモチャもこれからどれほど買わされるのか分かりませんが、でもそれも一ツの楽しみですね

子供用にプラレールを揃え始めたもののパパ（私）が夢中になってしまい、自分用のマシンとして購入(^ ^;;
子供の頃は、蒸気機関車といえばデゴイチ。迷うことなくこれにしました。

届いてから早速走らせると、トーマスシリーズよりかなりスピードが速い！ライトが点くのが気分ですね〜。レイアウトを組んで、部屋の電気を消してみると、なかなかいい感じです。

あくまでトーマスシリーズの機関車との比較ですが、トーマスシリーズのものよりフロントのオーバーハングがやや長いので、カーブ部分の線路脇に物を置いたり、ぎりぎりですれ違うレイアウトにする場合はトーマスシリーズよりもやや余裕をもたせる必要があります。

一例を挙げると、跳ね橋だとトーマスシリーズなら直接橋に曲線レールをつないで進入させても問題ないのですが、この機関車は一旦短い直線レールを介して曲線レールをつながないと橋の柵にひっかかってしまったり…、という感じです。

また、単二電池というのがちょっと不便ですが（うちにある他のトーマスの機関車は単三なので）、エネループのアダプターを使って単三電池で動かすようにしようかなあと思っています。

と、いろいろ書きましたが、総合的には非常に満足度の高い買物だと思います！
