このシリーズについて
発売から40年以上が経つトミーのロングセラー商品。原型は1959年発売の『プラスチック汽車 レールセット』で、手で転がして遊ぶものだった。以来、組み立てやすくする、故障をなくす、などの改良は行っているが、基本的なモデルチェンジは行っていない。1960年代に小型モーター内蔵の3両編成のタイプを発売、現在も車両は3両編成が基本になっている。3歳の子どもがひとりでも遊べるほか、レールレイアウトを追加して走らせたり、さらに親が一緒になって街をつくる大掛かりなレイアウトを作り上げたりなど、遊び方の自由度が高いのも魅力。

3両編成がリニューアル!塗装、ラベルがグレードアップして登場!!スイッチの切り替えで、2つのスピードで走る3両編成の車両です。3両は連結、切り離しができます。スイッチをオフにすると手で転がして遊べます。電池:単2×1本(別売)プラレールは別売りのレールをつなげていくと、どんどん楽しさが広がります。直線や線レールをはじめ、ポイントレール、トンネル、駅などたくさん揃っています。
