装飾を剥いだ稲葉浩志という表現者の音は、ROCKの原型に近いと信じる。
むきだしにした魂の核がうなるように振動し、その波動がダイレクトに胸に迫るから。
しかもそこでは様式美を先に作るのではなく、無地のキャンバスに筆を下ろしてゆくように、
ノージャンルの熱が自由奔放に、スピリチュアルに叩きつけられている。
それで出来上がった絵は岡本太郎氏の如く衝撃の色彩と構図で動き出してくるのだ。
よくいわれる歌唱技術側面からの讃美など後回しにしていいほど、先ず内面的な深さへの興味が稲葉浩志の世界で、
切なさと虚しさが四方八方へ存分に暴れ出していた。

「Tamayura」が始まるピアノの怖さや「SAIHATE HOTEL」の緊迫は前衛映画のようなうつろなシーンがいい。
「水平線」は声の裸がものをいうし、反対に「透明人間」の虚無はその枯れ方が色彩をつくる。
「あの命この命」は写実的な展開が珍しく、また表現の可能性に新しい切り口を見た。

単純にヴォーカル好きだという人のほうが「稲葉浩志ソロ」は触れやすい。客観的にそのヴォーカルと対峙できて、すくえる水も新鮮だから。

はじめて聴いたとき、もしかしたら稲葉さんはこの先B'zを辞めてしまうのではないか…と思った。それくらいクオリティーが高く、ソロ独自の世界が花開いていたから。（もちろんその後のB'z『THE　CIRCLE』で、B'z解散の心配は杞憂に終わった。『THE　CIRCLE』ではこのアルバムが花開いている。）
まず歌詞の素晴らしさ。場面の描き方、稲葉さん独自の言葉の飛躍は今まで以上に発揮されている。
特に「SAIHATE　HOTEL」では、男と女の恋愛の場面をストーリーを追う形で切り取ってあり、胸を締め付けられるような、愛おしさと切なさ、逃げたくなるような不安な気持ちが見事に表現されている。
もし「B'zの稲葉」のイメージしか持っていない方にとっては、革命の一枚になるでしょう。

稲葉氏三枚目のオリジナルアルバム。毎回ソロの作品は歌詞にひかれるのだが今昨は特にアルバムを通して貫かれたメッセージが存在しとても突き刺さる。楽曲はバラエティに富んでいるが詩は一貫して「幸せ」とは何かを訴えている。『透明人間』という曲ではとてつもなく孤独な少年の狂気すら感じる叫びが込められ『あの命この命』は幸せとはまさに命そのものなのだと考えさせられた。また楽曲的には『正面衝突』の言葉を詰め込めるだけ詰め込んだ早口歌唱にさすがといった感じ。今までの作品の中でも一際メッセージ性の強い作品。きっと心に響くものがあると思う。
