このCDについて

前作『すみれ』以来約1年半ぶりのアルバム。NHKアテネ・オリンピック放送テーマソングに使用された名曲「栄光の架橋」はじめ、「桜木町／シュミのハバ／夢の地図」「歩行者優先」などのシングル5曲を収録。プロデュースは寺岡呼人、アレンジに松任谷正隆、ストリングス・アレンジに金子飛鳥、ブラス・アレンジに山本拓夫らが参加。ジャケットは『ユズモア』に続いて村上隆が協力参加。


内容（「CDジャーナル」データベースより）

純直な歌唱が健康的すぎな感もあるが、北川の叙情的な、岩沢の奔放で前向きな詞曲のバランスが絶妙。二胡や楊琴を用いた(5)、ホーン・セクションが効きリズミカルな(7)、モータウン風の(12)と懐は深い。最後は2004年夏の五輪に花を添えた(13)で、とは決まりすぎです。

　私も、たまたま…見たＮＨＫの｢夢・音楽館｣で｢栄光への架橋｣にすっかり感動してしまい、待ちきれず翌日の仕事帰りにＣＤショップで手に入れました。番組で桃井かおりさんが言っていたように、｢勝者｣のための…ではなく「敗者も含めたみんな」のための歌…というところがいい！…ＣＤの裏書きの「協力」のらんに｢オリンピック日本選手団｣とあるのはほんとうにその通り！この歌を胸にみんながんばったのかも…
　オジサンにとって最初はなじめなかった他の曲も、くりかえし聞くうちにメッセージが伝わり、ジワジワと心に響いてきます。
　さっそくもう一枚買って、臨床実習で凹んでいる娘に送りました。

ゆずの曲は暖かい。
聴いていると安心する。心から。
「ゆずに会えてよかったなぁ。」なんて、思ってしまう。
今回のアルバムもそうである。
彼らの想いが、ギュッと詰まっている。

「アーティストとしての才能なんじゃない？」
そうなんだろうけど、それだけじゃないと思う。

前に『辛いときとかあると思うけど、そんな時は僕らの歌を聴いてください』と、北川さんが言っていた。
自分の経験から、同じような境遇になった人の為に＜経験から得たもの＞を伝える。
「辛い時は、こうすればいいんじゃないかなぁ」なんていう予想じゃなくて「そんな時、僕はこう思ったよ」と、あくまでも一つの選択肢を教えてくれる。

だから、彼らの音楽に惹かれるんだ。
こんな風な事は、他にも書いてる人はいるだろうけど、書きたいから書きます。

今のところ、一番のお気に入りは「夏祭り」です。
ギターとハープの、シンプルな構成で二人のハモリがとっても素敵です。「ゆずらしい」一曲です。

柔らかな気持ちの良いゆずを聞くことができます。
どの曲もいいんだけど、先月アテネオリンピックがあったから、どうしても栄光の架橋が気になってしまいます。
ついついオリンピックの柔道・水泳・体操の感動が思い起こされます。
皆さんもどうですか。
