前巻までに収録された9話までは｢物語を描く｣というよりは｢キャラクター描写｣をメインとした､キャラ萌え狙いが前面に出過ぎていて､せっかくの設定や世界観が余り活かされていない上､ストーリー的な面白さや奥行きがイマイチ感じられなかったのですが､やっと主人公が動き始め､それに伴って物語も展開していきます｡
先ず見所は10話､前話までの重苦しい流れを引き継いで､更に暗くなっていくかと思いきや､一気に明るくライトな展開のストーリーとなっています｡まぁ主人公は相変わらず一人でシリアスなのですが､その他のキャラがやっとまともに描かれ始めたと言う印象です｡物語全体の中でも､数少ないコミカルなストーリーとしてなかなか貴重な回だと思います｡
そして11話からは､ロボットアニメ普遍のテーマ｢主人公の家出｣が始まります｡人間関係に波風が立つことによって､なかなか見えてこなかった一騎と総士の関係や真矢の存在に光が当たり､思わせぶりな用語だけでお茶を濁されていた世界の全貌や敵の本質､少年たちに課せられた宿命などが描かれ始めます｡ただ､体の結晶化､自己否定､フェストゥムの侵食･同化など､凝った設定ゆえの説明過多が感じられもしましたね｡
新キャラが登場し､アクションシーンもちゃんと描かれ､影の薄かった咲良･剣司･衛にも魅せ場があるなど､動きの感じられる展開になってきました｡何より､今巻収録の12話から､脚本が山野辺一記氏と冲方丁氏の連名になっている点が大きい｡これが最初からの予定なのか､てこ入れなのかは存じませんが､今後ストーリー面でのレベルアップが予想出来ます｡後半の盛り上がりを充分に期待させるたけの要素は出てきましたね｡

アニメの方が最終話を向かえ、無事（？）終わりましたが、ＤＶＤの方はコレからどんどん面白くなってきます＾￥＾
一騎がとうとう島の外に出て、世界がどのように変貌しているのかを知るときがやってきました。それはつまり総士が見てきたものと同じものを見るということ！！ここで一騎はどのようなことを感じ、どのように変化していくのか・・・。
さらに新キャラ「カノン」「道生」も登場。まだまだファフナーから眼が離せませんね＾★＾

いろいろな事情により4巻から入手したのですが
まだ前半のオープニングがとてもよかったです。
話の中では真矢が蒼士に「どうして誰も一騎君の~」ってところが好きです
まだまだ語り尽くせないくらいいいんでオススメです
