   ポール・ウェラー初の全編カバー・アルバム。ボブ・ディラン、ティム・ハーディン、ギル・スコット・ヘロンなど1960~70年代のナンバーを中心に、独自のテイストを加えながら自らの魂を吹き込んでいる。これまでもキンクスなどのナンバーをカバーしてきたポールだが、今回は自らのルーツではなく、あえて馴染み深くない曲をプレイすることにより、自分なりのカラーに染め上げていったのだとか。事実、どの曲もポール色に染めあげられており、オリジナルを知らなくても十分楽しめるアルバムとなっている。ぐっと腰の入ったソウルフルなヴォーカルで酔わせてくれる、大人のロックが心地いい。（山崎智之）

ザ　ジャム、ザ　スタイル　カウンシルを経てソロになっても、ロンドンのモッズ族特有のハイパ-なセンスとメッセ-ジを発揮し続けてきたポ-ル　ウェラ-初の全編カヴァ-曲のアルバム　と　いっても　ただのレトロなカヴァ-作ではないです。都市型人間が、いかにも好む、ポップやR&Bの中から自身の感覚を磨き形成したか、がよく解る素晴らしいル-ツアルバムに出来上がっていると思います。特に　ギル　スコット　ヘロンのボトルは秀逸な味付けされて、ボブディラン、ロ-ズ　ロ-イスの曲がカヴァ-には　ツボを突かれた。
カ-ペンタ-ズなどの曲から自分より後輩のオアシスの曲まで選択、楽曲が生き返る様な　男つぽい　カッコいいアルバムだと思います。

アコースティック・ツアーで過去の楽曲を演奏するようになり、肩の力が（僅かに）抜けたのか、前作「Illumination」は傑作になりました。
その勢いで新作が続くのかと思ったらカバー集との情報。今ひとつピンとこなかったのですが、これはかなりいいです。
カバーもオリジナルもあまり関係ないような活動をしてきたウェラーなので、かつて聞いたことのある曲が、
かつてのウェラーの曲のアレンジで聞いてるような不思議な感覚。
オリジナル収録のCDを探して聞いてみたくなるほど、良いカバー集になってると思います。

時代の流れか色々なバージョンがリリースされています。
US盤、UK盤ではオリジナルの12曲入りですがデザイン違い。日本盤はUK盤と同仕様でボーナス2曲入り。（UKシングル・カップリングから）
UK初版はビデオ・クリップ、インタビュー収録のDVD付。
カナダ初版はUS盤と同仕様ながら、紙ジャケットに入った6曲入りのボーナスCDが付いています。（UKシングル・カップリングすべてを収録）
その他SACD版が出ており、5.1chのサラウンドミックス収録になっています。
