もはや純粋にHiphopリスナーだけでなく他ジャンルを聴く人々にも
名前を知らしめつつあるNujabes。

MCもCise StarrやShing02など実力派をフューチャーしている。
個人的にはSubstantialは好きではないけど、特にCise Starrの楽器
のように繰り出されるRapは素晴らしいものがある。

日本のJazzyhiphop界には優れたトラックメーカーが多くいると思う。
例えばMitsu the Beats、例えばGrooveman Spotなど。その中に間違いなくNujabesもいる。
例えばF.I.L.O.などは元ネタも素晴らしいが、それを繋げたNujabesも凄い。
またドラムが荒いといわれているけれど、狙っているにしろ狙ってないにしろ個人的にはそれが柔らかい感じを作っているし、それが良い。
Nujabesにはこれからも素晴らしい音楽を作り続けてほしいと思う。

CyneやFive Deez等を日本のリスナーに広く知らしめたアルバムでもある。CDだとModal SoulやHydeout Frist Collectionも良いがその中でもこのアルバムが１番だと思う。
そんなアルバムの中で個人的に１番好みなのはBeats Laments the World。
聞いてみて下さい。

今一番はまってるＣＤ。朝目覚めたら聴いて、研究室でも聴いて、家に帰っても聴いて。
やばいぐらいはまってます。全然飽きない。
全体的にシンプルな印象だけど、
なんか深みがあって、
どことなく繊細で、

…この人は天才に違いない。
このＣＤと出会えたことによって、俺の音楽の趣味が変わるかもしれない。

それにしても、このアルバム作ったの日本人なんやね。それもまた衝撃だった。

アングラでは既に完璧な地位を築いたnujabesの１stアルバム。
とにかく完成度が高く、ジャジーもクラシカルもアリ。
美メロ率高し、それなのにラップが打ち負けしていない辺りが
日本人トラックメイカーとは知っていなければ分からないほど上手い。
ハウスやテクノに近い感じの曲調もあり、ヒップホップに馴染みのない
人も安心して聞ける。
ハードコアな重低音は一切使わず、しかし軽いノリの安い曲とは違う。
多くのトラックには印象的なピアノの音が入り、局面のアクセントを
強調し、尚且つ音の広がりを表現し、多くのトラックメイカーが使う
スクラッチもほぼ使わず、美しく整った世界観を終始貫いている。
『長い期間飽きずに聴き続けられるヒップホップ』と言える。
入れている音は凝っていないのに全体を通して聴くと非常に一体感が
あり、聴き手を飽きさせない。
繰り返し聴いて曲の味の深さを堪能できる、
ヒッププホップファンもそうでない人も、必聴の一枚。
