　リル・ジョンの提唱する「Crunk & B」がブレイクした2004年。その代表曲と言えば，アッシャーの「Yeah!」と本作の「Goodies」しだろう。リル・ジョンと同郷のアトランタ出身のシアラは，もともとはモデル志望だったが，デスティニーズ・チャイルドに刺激を受けてシンガーになった弱冠18歳。キュートな歌声が魅力的だ。本作からはピーヒャラ・シンセをループしながら，シンフォニックでタイトに展開する「Goodies」が大ヒットし，ミッシー・エリオット参加の「1,2 Step」や，ちょっと調子はずれで脳天気なメロディーがユニークな「Oh」（リュダクリス参加！）など，今風のアップリフティング路線の曲が目立つ。
　ただ，シアラのキュートな歌声はむしろメロウ・チューンにこそ真価を発揮するのではないかと僕は見ている。本作でも，過激なタイトルとは裏腹にウェット&メロウなバラードの「Thug Style」，'80年代のアーバン・ソウルを想起させるアップテンポ「Pick Up The Phone」，何処となく物憂げだが，ゆったりと心地よく流れる「And I」や「Other Chicks」，LTDの「Love Ballard」を引用したメロウで小気味のいい「The Title」など楽曲構成的にもメロウ・チューンの度合いは高く，総じて楽曲の水準も高い。Dru Hillの再来を思わせるＡＴＬのアルバムでも2曲でキュートな魅力で好演していたシアラ。単なるノリと勢いの良さだけで突き進む，よくあるタイプの若手シンガーではないことは確かなようで，次作が大いに期待される。

「Goodies（グッディーズ）」聞きました♪
Usherの「Yeah」っぽいなぁーと思ってたら、案の定、「Yeah」作った人と同じ人が関係してたんですね。
女版「Yeah」ってなかんじです。（ぇ
かっこよくていいとおもいます☆
アメリカではすでに売れているようですし。
期待を込めて４点。

１曲目「Gooodies」、２曲目「One,Two Step」とカッコイイのが続いたと思ったら、結局ぜ~んぶ、カッコ良かった♪
たくさん女性ヴォーカルのアーティストが出てきていますが、CIARA、
かなり注目です！！
買って損ナシの一枚です♪♪♪
