魔女の宅急便のサウンドトラック盤とイメージ盤の中から厳選した曲を、ヴォーカル曲にアレンジしたアルバムです。

こういった、もともとインストゥルメントに歌詞を付ける手法は、単に失敗するばかりでなく、ともすればオリジナルまで壊してしまうこともあります。けれども、このアルバムに関しては、そのような懸念はなく、逆にオリジナルの魅力を高めた稀有で貴重な作品であるといえます。

何よりも、オリジナルの作曲者である久石譲さんご自身が担当していることで、原曲の持ち味をいかしながら、まるではじめから歌の付いた曲であったかのような巧みな編曲がされていること、そして、ややもすると、映画本編を変に意識してしまうところを敢えて押し込め、不安や期待の入り交じった敏感で壊れやすい世代の心を巧みに歌った作詞がされていることが成功の要因です。

もちろん、井上あずみさんと宝野ありかさんという実力ある歌い手を起用したこともよい選択で、深くになり過ぎず、そうかといって軽くなり過ぎない、明るく綺麗な声が曲と詩に見事にマッチしています。「歌モノか」とこれまで避けてきたスタジオジブリや久石譲さんのファンの方がいらっしゃいましたら、ぜひ一度聴いてみてください。魔女の宅急便の世界観をさらに深めた名盤です。

うーむ、全部が全部｢魔女の宅急便(平成元年7月)｣で流れたメロディーに歌詞を入れた曲でしょう？DVDを買ってみてみないと、そのメロディーがどこに流れていたか分かりませんよね？なので一応この評価なのですけど。

えーと、｢パステルユーミ・音楽集Vol.1｣のコメントと同様のことをここで書いて見ます。

このCDも持っている人は、この中の｢6・7・9｣の3曲と、｢魔法のアイドル・パステルユーミ｣(昭和61年3〜8月)の方の主題歌2曲、｢金のリボンでRockして(OP曲)｣｢フリージアの少年(ED曲)｣(ともに歌：志賀真理子)とが、全部｢作詞：麻生圭子｣なので、｢パステルユーミ・音楽集Vol.1｣もお持ちの方がこれを入手したのでしたら、ぜひこの5つを1組にして聴いてみて下さい。

あとの6つの作詞者は、｢4・8｣が、本来の原作者・角野栄子女史で、｢1・5｣が吉元由美さん、｢2・3｣が風堂美起さんですね。

｢こんな商品も買っています｣の中にあるうち、おそらく｢5・6・7｣の｢宝野アリカさんメドレー｣に着目して選んだのがありますね。でもどちらかと言うと｢1〜4｣の｢井上あずみさんメドレー｣の方にもご注目下さいな。｢9｣も井上あずみさんです。｢1〜4・9｣の5曲は、後になってあずみさん本人がCD｢君をのせて…はるか｣でセルフカバーしています。
