DVD化待ち望んでいました!近年稀に見る秀作です。このドラマと同時期の月9はキムタク主演の話題作でしたが、「菊亭八百善の人びと」の初回を見てハマってしまった私はこちらを全7話見続けました。戦後間もない東京を舞台に、老舗料亭の女将となった女性の奮闘と時代の移り変わりを描いたドラマです。江戸時代から続く老舗料亭八百善の女将に突然就任することになった汀子は、右も左もわからない世界でそれでも料亭を立て直そうと必死にがんばります。しかし時代は流れ、粋を売りにする八百善の存続は危ぶまれ…。料亭を再建させようと、たくましくなっていく主人公を演じる夏川結衣さんの演技がすばらしいです。今まで特に意識することのなかった女優さんでしたがこのドラマで好きになりました。キャストは若旦那に吹越満、その他金子昇、井川遥、杉浦直樹、橋爪功など脇役も豪華で見ごたえがあります。結構ほろりとなる場面もあるのですが、そうさせてくれないのが女将と若旦那のコミカルなやりとりです。個人的には、毎回登場する二人の夫婦喧嘩シーンが楽しみでした。見終わった後には続きが見たくなる、きっとお気に入りになるドラマです。

老舗の高級料亭の女将になってしまったヒロインの悪戦苦闘を描きます。宮尾登美子の原作とくれば、哀しい女の半生みたいな描かれ方でも不思議ではありませんが、主演の夏川結衣が明るく前向きに演じあげて、従来の薄幸の女のイメージを打ち破るコメディエンヌぶりをみせています。

共演者も、吹越満の若旦那ぶり、金子昇の男気、杉浦直樹、星由里子、橋爪功らがしっかり脇を固めています。

視聴率的に低迷しているドラマ界ですが、さすがにＮＨＫ製作だけあって、昭和をきっちりと描いています。もはや、月９と言えばＮＨＫなのかも知れません。

　いや、最高に面白かったッス。
よく見ているとピンチの連続で、しかもリアルな
逆境ということでドロドロしそうな内容です。
　が、夏川さんや吹越さんらの軽妙な演技と
台本が明るく、笑顔で乗り越えていく
八百善の姿を楽しく描いています。
　七話と、民法のドラマに比べて少なめですが、
その分だけ圧縮された濃密なお話でした。
　是非お奨めします。
