ブッカー・リトルのトランペットの響きは美しくそして切ない。将来有望な若武者であっただけに彼の２３歳という若さでの他界は残念である。スコット・ラファロもビル・エバンス・トリオの一角を担った天才ベーシストであるが、彼も若くしてこの世を去ってしまった。リトルの輝かしいロングトーンとラファロのベースラインが絶妙に調和され独創的な雰囲気を醸し出している。二人の天才の共演は今思うと奇跡的な出来事である。更に他にもウィントン・ケリー（p）、トミー・フラナガン（p）、ロイ・ヘインズ（ds）といった大御所が顔を揃えている。特に絶好調ウィントン・ケリーのピアノ・ソロもこのアルバムの隠れた聞き所となっている。１９６０年当時の最良のサウンド収めた傑作である。

内容は勿論いうまでもなく素晴らしいのですが、音質云々以前の問題として
マスターテープの傷みがひどいのか・・音がぶれています。
特にラストの曲など聴くに耐えられないほどの「ぶよぶよ状態」・・
※２つのプレイヤーで聴いてみましたが、やはり同じ状態でした。

僕が買ったＣＤのみが・・そうなのか、どうかはわかりませんが
ご参考までに書いておきます。
