1984年に放送されたTVアニメ「ビデオ戦士レザリオン」のサウンドトラック盤。今回が初CD化となる。デジタルデータの転送ミスが原因でスーパーロボットが生まれるという、パソコンの存在が一般的になり始めていた当時らしい設定のロボットアニメで、主人公がパソコンのキーボードでロボットを操作していたのがユニークだった。 音楽を手がけていたのは、この頃「戦隊モノ」を卒業し「宇宙刑事モノ」の人となっていた渡辺宙明。アップテンポな楽曲の冴えは相変わらずだし、弦やピアノを用いたスローな楽曲も美しい。ヴォーカル曲も王道路線からマイナー路線まで各種そろっている。当時の渡辺サウンドのいわばショーケース的な1枚として、楽しめる1枚だ。（安川正吾）

この前後のコロムビアは「ヒット曲集」「BGM集」と分けて出していたLPを１枚で出す試みを短期間していた。BGMに関しては聞きたい曲が入っていないことも多かったが、単体のアルバムとして見た場合にはベストアルバム的に名曲揃いとなる結果となり、非常にまとまりのある内容となった。本作では他の方が「ガ・モン･･･」を推しておられるが、劇中でギャリオ戦の定番として使用された名曲「光の世界」、決死の出撃シーンで効果的に使用された「We're Ready」なども劣らず傑作。買って損なしとはまさにこのこと。

前年のアルベガスに続いての宙明サウンド。今回はステレオ録り！
全作にも増してストリングスによるスピード感が強調されている。
最近作ゴーダンナーを視た人なら思わずニヤリの曲もある。
渡辺宙明もパターン以外の曲への挑戦も行っており、単なるお約束的内容には終わらない。

個人的にはジャーク軍の強大さを表現した「ガモンオヴヴァヴェーヴァ」がお気に入り。
ただ、今作についてはかなりの未収録曲が残っている事もあり、是非完全版を望みたい！

カセットに落としてもう数え切れないくらい聴いたし、本編もベータマックス！で録画してテープが切れるまで見まくった思い出があります。改めて聴いてみて、劇伴だから、音が全体にチープなのはしょうがないでしょう。歌は結構上手いよね。素直に童心に帰れる得がたいアイテム。CD化なんてとっくに諦めて、もう忘れていたので嬉しいです。しかし!元のレコードジャケット裏のレザリオンのイラストが省かれてるのはどういうわけ?これじゃ今の若い子はレザリオンが何なのか分んないじゃないか!(版権の都合?)解説文も、ちゃんと作品紹介くらい書いといてよ。アニメ本編に対する誠意が足りん!!という点で2点減点。
