今回のDVD-BOX、現在放映中のとは違い、忍たま第一弾です。だから、ちょっと違う性格、姿のキャラたちに会えると思います。昔からアニメを見てる人は懐かしさが、今のアニメしか見覚えがない人は目新しさが感じられると思います。

テンポの良いダジャレ満載のストーリー。放送開始当初の初々しさは、懐かしいというより、忍者の学校があったらいいのになと思わずにいられない楽しさで溢れています。
忍者のタマゴの落ちこぼれとはいうけれど、日常経験の失敗や騒動に明るく楽しく立ち向かっていく様は、いまだ続く様々な個性溢れるキャラクター達によって彩られています。
オープニング、予告が揃い、「オマケ」に補修授業と言う形で、忍術の勉強（原作者の尼子騒兵衛さんの絵もあり）付き。ただ惜しいのは、エンディングがないこと。またこの第１期シリーズ後編に欠番が２話あるらしいということ。
しかし初期の作品は、録画していたテープがぼろぼろになってきているので、このDVDはとても嬉しいです。
