元Watchtowerのギタリスト、RON JARZOMBEKのソロアルバムです。2002年発表。
変態ギタリストと言えば、個人的には真っ先にフランク・ザッパがその始祖ではないかと思いますが、その要素として、
１、フレーズがとにかく変である（当たり前ですね）
２、その変なフレーズを弾きこなす超絶テクニックをもっている（この点は大変重要です）
３、もちろん、楽曲も変である（変拍子なんて連発されたら悶絶ものです）
の３つが欠かせない要素ではないかと思います。このRON JARZOMBEKはそのフランク・ザッパ以降の系譜を汲む数少ない「正統派」変態ギタリストです。

Watchtowerも変態の極みだったと思いますが、このソロ作品も尋常ではありません。トラック数は何と45にも及び、しかも曲間は無し。ここからして大いに変です。本人によればこの前代未聞のアルバム構成もちゃんとした意味があるそうですが、聴くほうとしては変態フレーズオンリーの組曲を聴いている気分です。ネオクラ風あり、HR／HM風あり、コンテンポラリー系ジャズ風ありと作風は実にバラエティーに富みますが、ここまで変態性を押し通すと案外爽快な気分さえ沸いてくる妙な気分です。そう、決しておどろおどろしくならないのが彼特有のセンスであり、持ち味なのでしょう。もちろん、プレイ自体は超の上に超がつくテクニカル系の極みです。変態サウンド好き、テクニカル系ギター好きの人には、ぜひお勧めしたい逸品です。
