この映画はロンドンの地下鉄を題材にイギリスの情報誌「Time Out」（ぴあみたいな物）が一般読者から募集したシナリオを９人の監督が自らシナリオを選び映画化した短編映画集。監督にはユアン・マクレガーやジュード・ロウが監督を務めている。ユアン・マクレガー監督した話には実の叔父が出演していたり、他にもトレインスポッティングでダイアンを演じていた女の子や何処かで見た人が主役やチョイ役で出ていたりする。ロンドンの地下鉄に乗った事がある人には懐かしく、そしてその地下鉄に自分も乗っているような雰囲気等が伝わってくる。話は笑えるもの、ブルーになるもの、悲しい物、考えさせられる物等色々あるがどの話も楽しめる。何度も観ているが何度観ても飽きる事なく楽しめる映画。

この映画のキーワードは、「猥雑さ」と「生活感」だと思いました。

ハリウッド映画のようなハイテンションさは無く、映像全体が生活感を感じさせる、地に足の付いた作品です。

有名監督のオムニバス作品という事で、適当にスタイリッシュな映像を繋げただけのものかと思ってましたが、良い意味で期待を裏切られました。

ただ、余りにもストーリーに脈絡が無いという点で、星を3個にしました。

長々と前説や前振りの多いだけの作品を見るよりは遥かに楽しめる。なんせ、今絶頂のユアン･マクレガーやジュード･ロウが監督してるんだから興味深い。彼らはB級作品から成長し、今だB級作品を愛し挑戦する一筋縄ではいかない個性派俳優だと思っている。だからこそ、彼らのこだわりを垣間見られるこの作品は貴重ではないだろうか。短編の全ては‘地下鉄’というテーマ以外に特に共通点はない。あきることなく新たな気持ちで次の作品を見ることができるだろう。
