購入当日、データ転送中にアクセスエラー後、そのまま認識不能となりました。
他のHDを使用し、PC側及びケーブルのチェックしましたがそちらはOK。
手持ちで使用中の同一機種と差し替えたりしながらチェックしてみましたが、どうもLEDのランプの点滅が不自然で、まともに起動してないようです。
聞く所によるとLaCieの製品は初期不良が多いらしく、今回そのハズレを引いてしまったみたいです。HDの様などちらかというと、バックアップ目的が主の使用になる製品でこの手の不良は少し考えものです。
ただ、今回の物は2台目で、1台目は快調に動作中ですので、全ての製品が悪い訳ではないと思います。
格好は抜群に良く、気に入っているので、交換して使用したいと思っています。次の物が正常である事を祈ります。

自宅編集を行うフリーライターですが仕事上膨大なデータを使います。今まで他社のHDDを１０台以上使用しましたが、映像処理や音声入力するにはパフォーマンスに不満を感じていました（転送速度が全て遅い！）。今回LaCie製品の高い評価を量販店で聞き試してみたところ、今までのパフォーマンスとは桁が違うのを感じました。マックでもWindowsでも両対応で最高のパフォーマンスにただ感激しています！

4.0 out of 5 stars 見た目も中身もバッチリ文句なしのディスク☆, 2005/6/18
~想像していたよりずっとクールでカッコイイ！かなりコンパクトです。
電源アダプターが外付けでついてくるんだけど、どうせコンセントの近くに置くんだし、それよりも机の上を占有する本体のサイズがここまで小さいことの方がありがたい♪

電源を入れると、正面左下にオレンジ色のLEDが灯る。
ファイルコピーなど読み書きをした際には、このLEDがイエロー~~で点滅する仕掛けだ。

前評判通りの転送速度もさることながら、使ってみて驚いたのは、動作音。わざわざ「流体軸受け」などとアピールしているバッファロー製のものと比べても遜色がない静かさ。

もうひとつ驚いたのは、発熱の少なさ。バッファローの現行モデルは「ヒートシンクボディ」と銘打って本体から熱を逃がすとアピールしているので、「白金カ~~イロか？」と思うくらい熱くなる。でも、このラシー製のドライブは、排熱のファンも何もないのに、ぜんぜん熱くない。発熱の少ないディスクを採用しているのかどうか、とにかく熱を出していないような感じで、ほとんど常温。これからの季節にはありがたい。

会社用に買ったんですが、デザインのかっこよさと出来映えの素晴らしさに、自分用にもう１台注文~~しちゃいました。一般的な外付けハードディスクのチープなプラスチックボディと違って、ずっしりメタリックな光沢／質感がとってもステキです☆　アルミボディのPowerMacG5やPowerBookG4となら、見た目の相性もバッチリですね。あ、もちろんiBookやiMacといっしょに使っても、そこいらのプラスチックボディHDより断然かっこいいですよ♪~
