いつにも増して、先進的な試みを見せつけてくれたアルバム。
「楽器を使う事に飽きてしまった」と云う事で、所謂『ヒューマン・ビート・ボックス』を用い、人間の持つ肉体だけで作り上げられた楽曲は、表現的な広がりを損なう事無く完成され、アヴァンギャルドな試みながらも受ける印象はむしろクラシカル。

激しくビートが入り乱れるドラムンベースを思い起こすような曲もあり、彼女らしい叙情的な曲もありで、聴いていると『ヒューマン・ビート・ボックス』だけで構成されているという事もすっかり忘れてしまう程、洗練された音の使いこなしを見せてくれます。

もとより彼女の音楽が好きな方は勿論の事、前作以上にエレクトロミュージックが好きな方や、現代音楽を聴いてる方達にも、新たな驚きを与えてくれる作品だと思います。
かつて、クリスチャンヌ・ルグランがスキャットコーラスグループ『Quire』で求めた美しさに近いものを感じました。

方法論としては決して新しくはないが、かつてピンクフロイドがチャレンジして挫折したことが機材の進化で可能になったのだなぁという印象。本人も語っているが、「完成されたもの」を求める人にはやや不満かも知れません。アイデアは満載。ただし、人の声をだけでという取り組みはトッドラングレンやもっと古くはジュリーテッペットといったフリージャズの先達もチャレンジしていたものである事は知っておいて欲しいなと思います。参加したミュージシャンの個性もうまく取り込めているし、ベスパタインである程度の高みに達してしまったＢＪＯＲＫとしては良い内容と評価できる。

美しいんですけど…。７曲目とか特に良いんですけどね…。
私には、聞ける曲、３曲ぐらいしかなかったです。
ヒューマンビートボックスがどうこう、とかいう問題ではなくって、
こうも全編にわたって暗いと、恐怖です。怖くて聞けません。
発売日に買いにいきましたが、それから聞いてないです。
以前からのファンですが、ヴェスパタイン以降のビョークは難解です。
いったい何処までいってしまうのでしょうか？？
ジャズ~ポップ~テクノ時代の作品が好きな私には難しすぎるアルバムでした。
