1stが後に話題になったりもしたスペインのネオアコバンドの2nd、95年作。レーベルも今となっては懐かしいスペインのネオアコレーベルのエレファント。1stはジャケも青空だったが、このセカンドは湿度の高い梅雨を思わせる静謐なサウンドが際立っていて、これはこれで、2009年の今こそしっくりくるんではないかと思う。

ここまでポップさを抑えて、スペイン風サウダージを描ききっているのは、かなり当時としても貴重だったと思う。サラにブルーボーイというバンドがあったが、彼らがやるアコースティックさとどこか共通していて、それはやはりヨーロッパのサウダージ感覚とでもいうべきもので、何気ない水彩画のような日常を淡々と描いていくものだ。それはインパクトや瞬時の心地よさを求めているときには、全く心に響かないが、ただなんとなくかけ続けていると、この音楽がゆっくりと心に滲みてきて切なさだけでなく優しさまでもくれている。いろいろなバンドがこの世の中にはあるが、こういう透明な世界は、なかなか描けるものではない。
