ウィリー・ディクソンの名盤中の名盤。最初に聴いた印象は予想外にポップ！ブルースプロデューサーとして名を馳せた彼だけにボーカルなどの魅力は薄いが、これらスカスカのオリジナルの方が、ツェッペリンやストーンズのカバーより現代にマッチして聴ける。先達の偉大さを改めて知る感激の１枚！タイトルも最高！

クリームの「スプーンフル」、ツェッペリンの「ユー・ショック・ミー」などを聞いていたから、この人暗くて怖そうな人かと思っていたら、CDの裏側に優しそうな太っちょで鼻の穴のでかいオッサンが裏ジャケット全体に写っていました。で、CDをデッキに乗せて見ると、やはりその風采から来る明るいヴォーカルで全体的に割とサラッと聞けるシカゴ系ブルースアルバムです。なんども聞きこめるアルバムではないでしょうか、ブルース系の音楽が好きな人であれば購入して損することはないと思います。

かなり思い切ったタイトル。マディ・ウォーターズ、ハウリン・ウルフなどに、名曲を多数提供していた、陰の実力者にして、初めて冠する事の出来るタイトルですな。ソニーの、ブルース紙ジャケシリーズ中の一枚だが、他の五枚がデルタ・ブルースの古い録音なのに比べ、本作のみ７０年録音のモダン・シカゴ・ブルース。1のファンキーなノリにいきなりヤられてしまう。有名なハウリン・ウルフのヴァージョンは未聴だが、こちらもかなりの名演。マディの十八番7やクリームで有名な4。8は個人的にはサム・クックの曲だと思っていた。いずれも名演だが、必ずしも本家がやっているから、これがベスト、と言い切れるようなものでもないのだろうな。ディクソンの作曲能力、そして本人ならではの解釈を楽しむべき作品。デジタル・リマスターで音質は良好。紙ジャケの造りも文句なし。
