このアルバムは、スウィート・ヴォイスのダイアナが、世界トップの女性ヴォーカリストへと歩んだ軌跡の記録です。

軽快なテンポ「キープ・ミー・ハンギン・オン」は他のアーティストによくカバーされますが、シュープリームスの歌声が一番しっくりきます。「ラヴ・チャイルド」の頃から彼女の歌をリアル・タイムで聴き始めましたが、このマイナーな曲想はそれまでのシュープリームスのイメージとは違い、力強い曲で改めて名曲なのを確認しました。

その後、彼女は、グループを脱退し、ソロ活動し、「タッチ・ミー・イン・ザ・モーニング」を世界中でヒットさせました。歌唱力もあり、美しいメロディを持っていますので大好きな曲の一つです。
ダイアナは映画『マホガニー』に主演しました。主題歌として歌った「マホガニーのテーマ」も愛らしくステキな曲です。日本でも有名なコーヒーのＣＭでよく流れましたので御存知の方も多い曲でしょう。

ライオネル・リッチーとのデュエット曲「エンドレス・ラヴ」は、ブルック・シールズ主演映画でこれも日本で大ヒットしました。 デュエットのラヴ・ソングの代表曲で、例えようのない美しさを感じます。

愛らしい恐竜がでてくるアニメーション『リトル・フットの大冒険』のテーマ曲の「イフ・ウイ・ホールド・オン・トゥゲザー」は、様々なコンピレーション・アルバムに収録されています。これぞ名曲！！といえるものでしょう。
