以前から出ていた映像だが、値段が格段に安くなりとてもうれしい。ただし、日本語字幕はない。演奏は、スカラ座のモーツァルトらしく明るく、さわやかだ。いかにもイタリアらしいの陽気の中で物語が進行していく。最も特筆すべきはスカラ座のオーケストラだ。明るくおおらかでいながらムーティの指揮にきまじめに反応している。歌手ではフィオルデリージ役のデッシーが素晴らしい。美しい声でとても正確に歌っている。グリエルモも声が美しい。もう一人ツェルリーナは新人なのか演技が固いところがあるが、熱演に惹かれてしまう。ムーティの指揮はさすがで流れるようなテンポと軽やかなリズムでまぶしいばかりに進行していく。ドイツ的な重厚さは一つも感じられないが、ある意味での理想的なモーツァルトが聴ける。

英語字幕ですけど、それほど複雑なお話でもありませんから十分たのしめました。侍女役の歌手がお茶目ないい味出してました。

このオペラには時代を超える心理と真理が隠されている。
それは「人も状況もいつまでも同じでない。その時、人間はどう変化していくのか…。」がテーマである。
若い二人の男は状況が変わっても彼らの恋人は貞淑だと言い張る。
しかし、彼らの恋人の姉妹は最初は頑なに貞操を守っていたが最後には新しい恋人に心を動かしてしまう。
それは何故か?状況が変われば人間は変わるからだ。どんな女性もいつ帰ってくるか死ぬか分からない恋人より、今目の前にいる熱心に愛を語る求愛者の方が『いい』だろう。
最後、彼らは「賢い人間は目の前のことに嘆かず上手く過ごして笑いに変えるものさ」と歌う。
モーツァルトは変わってしまう人間の心という運命の過酷さを美しい音楽とコミカルな笑いでコジ・ファン・トゥッテを素晴らしいオペラにした。
だが、私たちは美しい音楽とコミカルな笑いの中に悲劇があることを見逃してはならない。
