キンクス６枚目のスタジオアルバムが今回未発表曲を含めた３枚組みでの登場。
１枚目はステレオバージョン。２枚目はモノラルバージョン。
３枚目は未発表曲集になっています。
最初に聴くと、最近のオーバープロデュース気味の曲を多く聴いてきた人には何か物足りない、普通のグッドメロディな曲が並んでいるだけにしか聴こえないかもしれませんが、何度も通して聴いたり、ある時にふと聴いたりしてみると、じわじわと入り込んでくる感じがします。
歌詞はイギリスの田園風景に思いを馳せるものとなっていて、日本人には判りにくい部分もあるかもしれませんが、なんというか、楽園に近い感じと言えばいいのでしょうか？(具体的にはロードオブザリングに出てきたホビット庄みたいなところかな？見たこと無い人には判らないと思いますが・・・）とても素晴らしいです。
そして３枚目の未発表曲、これはGreatLostKINKSに入っていた曲が聴けるようになって、これだけでも買いです。
(キンクスはやたら廃盤になるアルバムが多いので・・・・・）
うまく言えなくてすいません。とにかくこんな名盤にはそうそうお目にかかれないでしょう。マスト・バイです！！！！！

このアルバムの歌詞の対訳は最低です。全く詩心が無いというか、キンクスに愛情を持たない(知らない)人がお仕事でやったのでは?と疑ってしまいました。私が初めてこのアルバムを聴いた当時、英語もろくにわからない学生(充分大人ですが)だったので、こういった対訳を読みながらキンクスをより深く好きになった記憶があります。以前の対訳も訳者の解釈(意訳)が当然あったと思いますが、『ウォルター』、『ビッグスカイ』などの歌詞を初めて読んだ感動が今回は有りませんでした。あくまで私の個人的な思いかもしれませんが前の歌詞の方が好きです。
