「さくらんぼ」でヒットした大塚愛ですが続くシングル「甘えんぼ」ではaikoっぽいと非難され、「Happy Days」はボーカルにエフェクトを掛けてしまった謎な作品でしたが、
今回の「金魚花火」は大塚愛らしさが出たんじゃないでしょうか。
バラードだと「甘えんぼ」のような曲しかないのかな?と思っていたのでちょっと意外でした。

シンプルな中にも深みがある編曲もこの曲の雰囲気をさらに良くしています。

大塚愛、今後も注目していっても良いと思わせる良作バラードでした。

まず、イントロは坂本龍一の『戦場のメリークリスマス』と
久石譲の『風のとおり道』をミックスしたようなアレンジで、
夏の夜を思わせる透き通ったピアノと木琴の音色が涼しく心地よいです。

前曲『HAPPY DAYS』の叙情的・口語的な唄い言葉とは一味違い、
情緒のある叙事的な歌詞内容になっています。
明確に五七五で構成されている訳ではありませんが、
何処となく俳句にも似た“和”の雰囲気が感じ取れます。

音運びも“和”を意識したものでしょうか。
「あなたの優顔……」でのサビの閉じ方には独特の哀愁があり、
そこに続く終盤の加速部分は一見ミスマッチですが、
良い意味でのギャップがあり、見事な疾走感を生み出しています。

大塚愛さんのメロディーは多少リピートがくどくてもしつこくないので、
個人的にはその加速部分の上にもサビを乗せて欲しかったところですが、
とはいえ非常に盛り上がりも良く、インストとしての聴き応えは十分あります。
全体的な奥床しい雰囲気重視のマンネリを解消するのにも一役買っているかと。

今回は拡声器の処理などの無い生声です。
色んな意味で満足な一曲でしょう。

夏の夕方から夜にかけての、少し淋しい雰囲気が非常によく出ています。
大塚愛の中では完成度最上級の1曲。
これがなかったら、私は彼女を色物アーティストとしか見られなかったと思う。
若手歌手の中でも、「金魚花火」ほど夏を感じさせる曲は無いと思います。

PVも曲同様に完成度が高いです。
「金魚花火」が気に入った方はぜひ、2枚組を買ってDVDを観て下さい。
その質の高さに驚かされ、満足すると思います。
