Therionのメンバーの別プロジェクト、「DEMONOIDE」の1st。凄まじい突進力を持ち、あくまでもブルータル、そしてミステリアス、巷に溢れている甘ったるいメロデス勢とは明らかに一線を画している。又、近頃のTherionではあまり聴けなくなったクリストフェルの野獣の如き咆哮が全面的に使用されているのも嬉しい。クリスティアンのギターもTherionからは想像出来ないほど非常にテクニカルかつ叙情的、作曲家としての才能も十二分に発揮されている。非常に上質なデスメタルアルバムです。 尚、Dr.には元ソイルワークのリチャードが参加しています。

暗黒騎士の幽玄な重みが超ビューチホーに描かれた美麗ジャケットが、サイコーにグレートなこのアルバムは、ＴＨＥＲＩＯＮのメンバーによる別働隊バンドのデビュー作。

ＴＨＥＲＩＯＮは、ヴォーカルであるクリストフェル・ユンソンが主軸のバンドだが、このＤＥＭＯＮＯＩＤは、ギタリストのクリスティアン・ニエマンが主体となって動いており、いまや元デス・メタル・バンドの面影皆無のＴＨＥＲＩＯＮとは異なる、アグレッシヴなブラック・メタル寄りのデス・メタルを演奏している。

とにかく何がカッコいいって、そのギター・メロディ。あくまで暗黒な薫りを漂わせながらも、勇壮に疾駆するメロディのインパクトの強いこと！

特に、彼らの魅力全部入りの名曲＃１“Wargods”は、これまでに聴いてきたブラック系の楽曲の中でも３本に入るお気に入り。
勇壮で攻撃的なメロディが、クリスティアンの流麗なテクニカル・ギターと、リチャード・エヴェンサンド（元SOILWORK、EBONY　TEARS）の見事なブルータル・ドラミングによって突き進み、Myアドレナリンは頂点に！
腹が立っている時に聴くとサイコー！！（爆）

その他、湿度満点でメロディック極まりない間奏がインパクト大の＃５“Hunger　My　Consort”や、＃８“End　Of　Our　Times”あたりもグッド！！

アルバムを通して、高品質な楽曲が並ぶが、やや意識をスルーしがちな曲があるのも事実。ただクリスティアンは次作も必ず作る、とのことなので、そこら辺は次作に期待！

とにもかくにも、このギター・メロは美味しいよ！！
＃１だけでも聴く価値はあるかと。デス系の曲で久々に新鮮さを感じたね（＾＾
