このシリーズについて

   世界中で愛され、親から子へと受け継がれている熊のぬいぐるみ、テディベアは、マルガレーテ･シュタイフが1847年に創立した、ドイツ・シュタイフ社で誕生した。20世紀初頭にはアメリカへ渡り、やがて大ブームを巻き起こす。
   その名前は第26代アメリカ大統領セオドア･ルーズベルトの愛称「テディ」に由来する。狩猟を好み、熊が大好きだった彼のために、ある時、夕食会の演出として、シュタイフ社製の熊のぬいぐるみがテーブルに乗せられた。それを見てご機嫌の彼に、列席者の一人が「これはテディのベアさ」と言ったことから、いつしか「テディベア」と呼ばれるようになったのだ。
   選りすぐりの素材のみを使用し、一体一体、職人が手作業で仕上げるテディベアの左耳には「ボタン・イン・イヤー」（シュタイフ社の商標）とタグが付けられている。このボタンは、ぬいぐるみでは世界で最初のトレードマーク、最高級品質の証だ。細部まで目が行き届いているから、安心して愛する人に贈ることができる。
   躍動感あふれるデザイン、リアルさを残した可愛らしさ、独特の表情が心をとらえて離さない。美術品として評価が高いのも頷ける。（水谷雅洋）

コレクターというわけではなく、お店にお預かりされている子で気の会いそうな子がいれば我が家にお迎えする、そんなスタイルでくまちゃんとの出会いを楽しみにしている私ですが…この子のお兄さん(笑)もその一人として我が家にお迎えされています。

この兄弟たちのいいところは、なんと言ってもまずお顔がかわいいこと。
その兄弟（シリーズ）ごとにお顔の雰囲気もそれぞれ違うのですが、この兄弟たちは大きい黒目の瞳と、高すぎない鼻、ふんわりと黄色っぽい風合いのボディ…、手作りだから、一人一人少しずつお顔の感じが違いますが、全体的にとても愛らしいのです。

また、特にシュタイフのくまちゃんたちは、白タグ(限定品)の場合をはじめとして高価なことが多いですが、こちら黄タグ(通常品)ですからお安いですし、そうかといって品質が悪いわけは決してありません。大変しっかり作ってあります。素晴らしいですよ!

もちろん、黄タグでも価値がないわけじゃないです。廃盤になれば、黄タグの子も希少になってきますし。まあ、客観的な価値ウンヌンは本当はどうでもよくて…くまちゃんに愛情をかけることが、自分の中の価値を高める一番の方法なのは、言うまでもないことですけれども。

テディベアは硬くて抱っこしにくいとおもわれている方もいるでしょう。確かにそれはそうなのですが、そのおかげで型崩れもしにくく、愛らしさをいつまでも持ち続けます。
また素材はモヘア(羊毛)や木綿ですし、素材も安心で、高級感もあります。

うちに数いるくまちゃんの中でも、まるで幼子のようなかわいらしさを持つこのシリーズの子。
皆さんもお手元に是非！私がそうであるように、くまちゃんを見つめるたびに、笑顔になれます。
