4.0 out of 5 stars これよりもＰＳ版「グラディウス　デラックスパック」を再リリースしてくれ, 2004/8/21
ＰＳ２の初期にリリースされたソフト「グラディウスIII＆IV」の廉価版。先日発売された「グラディウスV」で初めてこのシリーズをプレイし、そして旧作に興味を持ったという方がいるかもしれないので、フォローしときますと・・・。

まず「III」ですが、元は１９８９年にアーケードでリリースされたもので、プレイヤーから募集したアイデアを盛り込んで制作されている。こう言うとプレイヤーサイドに立って作られたように見えるが、実際はどちらかというと「プレイヤーを打ち負かしてやろう」的な作られ方で、盛り込まれたアイデアがことごとく難度の上昇に繋がってしまっている。他にもとても初心者向けとはいえないビギナーモード等、シリーズの中では随一のバランスの悪さで、マニア視点でゲームを作ると失敗する、という最初の例だったと記憶しております。

「III」のあと約１０年置いてリリースされたのが「IV」です（その間にＰＳ版「外伝」や、シリーズ唯一の３Ｄ作「ソーラーアサルト」がリリースされている）。「III」での失敗を教訓にしたのか、最高傑作といわれる「II」をベースにそつの無い作りとなっている。無さ過ぎて、今作ならではの個性があまり感じられないのが気になるが。処理落ちが無いため、「III」以上に難度が高く感じられます。

ネガティヴなことばかり書いてしまいましたが、ゲーム自体は両作とも十分に「面白い」です。プレイヤーを選ぶゲームですが、価格も安いことですし、興味を持ったのなら是非買ってプレイしてみてください。

自機がボタン操作に０．５秒程遅れてから反応してしまうんですよねぇ｡｡｡
そこで、わざわざこのソフトのためにプレステ２の本体を買いましたが、
クリアはおろか、今のところ最高でも５面で死んでしまいます(汗)
これを全面クリア出来るという事は立派な一種のステータスだと本気で思いますね。

ちなみに関係ないけれど…PSP版ではセーブ機能を使いとりあえず全面一周はしてはみましたが、それでも軽く百回以上は繰り返してようやくなんとかといった感じでしたね。。。

アーケード版グラディウスIIIとグラディウスIVのカップリングです。
完全移植に加え、ステージセレクトやサウンドテストもついています。

「難しい」
IIIを表す言葉はこれしかありません。
インターネットなどで攻略情報を手に入れなければ、クリア不可能ではないかと思わせる難しさです。
敵の弾を見て避けている時点で死んでいます。まさに即死。
しかし難しい中に潜む一点の突破口をついたとき、先に進むことができます。
その突破口をなぞるようにプレイすることが面白い。
正解の道は分かっている。だがその道にどれくらい近づけるか、がIIIの面白さなのだと思います。

IVはですね、グラディウスI、II、IIIを繋ぎ合わせて再構成したような内容です。
IIIほど難しくもないので私は結構好きなのですが、グラディウス好きにはあまり評価が良くないみたいです。
そりゃ見たことあるような仕掛けばっかりでは新鮮味がありませんからね。
でもちゃんとグラディウスしていますよ。

あと、二種類あるオープニングムービーは必見です。
グラディウスの世界を、スピード感あふれる3DのCGで描いています。
