フランス出身の6人編成の男女混声ゴシックメタルバンド、アド・ヴィタム・エターナムが2004年に発表したファーストアルバムです。90年代の初期Theatre of Tragedyあたりを思い出させるような典型的なゴシックメタルを聴かせてくれています。特に鍵盤の使いどころがTOTに酷似しています。ナイスです。女性ボーカルはあくまでも美しく、かつ可憐。男性デス声との見事な対比が、より美しさを引き立てる役目を十分に果たしています。まさに耽美派ゴシックメタルの王道を歩んでいるという印象。ゴシックメタル旧守派にとっては堪らない魅力をもっています。

全体としてはやや線が細く、楽曲もまだ練り上げられていませんが、今後に大いに期待という感じでしょうか。バンド名は新約聖書の一文で、ラテン語で「永遠なる生命」という意味だそうです。ちなみに歌詞のほとんどが英語。全部フランス語で歌ってくれても構わないですが、それは次作に期待です。

フランスの男女Voゴシックメタルバンド、アド・ヴィタム・エターナムの1st。2004作
AKINといいPENUMBRAといいフランスではオランダ同様まだまだゴシックメタルが盛んらしい。
このバンドも男女Voと、壮麗なシンセとギターをメインに、シンフォニックで耽美な雰囲気をかもし出している。
ソプラノVoも美しく、デス声との対比が美と醜のコントラストを作り出していて、全体的に「ゴシックメタルかくあるべし」、というサウンド。
ギターの煽情フレーズもなかなかで、美麗なキーボードとの絡みはハンガリーのEVEN SONGあたりを思い出す。
プロダシクョンの質やジャケのセンスを向上させれば一線級のバンドにもなれそう。
