NOW AND FOREVER以来、彼のファンでしたが、
今回も期待通りの作品と言っていいと思います。
美メロ、独特の声、わかりやすい歌詞。
バラードメーカーとしての側面が強調されている
ような気がしますが、ミディアムテンポの曲も
素晴らしいということを知るためにはベスト版
などでなくオリジナルアルバムを聴いてみると
いいのかもしれません。

ノリのいい曲もあり、部屋でも、車でも、
聴けばリラックスできるでしょう。
流して聴くのもよし、じっくり聴くのもよし、
というのは今も昔も変わっていなくて、
ファンとしては彼が変わっていないことが
確認できてよかった。

80年後半から90年前半にかけて、多くのヒットを飛ばした彼が帰って来ました。あの甘く残るハスキーヴォイスは今も健在。ロックが元になっている彼の音楽は、バラードのヒットメーカーとして、多分聴いた事のある曲が1曲はあるでしょう。近年はプロデュース活動を主にしていたので、表に出ることは無かったのです。そんな彼が今回世に送り出したものは、他人では歌えない、自分だからこそ歌える（自分らしさが歌える）、今までで最高の曲ばかりなのです（プロデュースだと、歌い手に合わせて作曲するそうです）。日本盤はボーナストラックとして、デビューアルバムの中からの有名なバラード曲を挿入（ライブヴァージョン）。嫌味の無い、体の中に溶け込む様な曲の数々に酔いしれてみてはいかがでしょうか？

あとを引くしゃがれ声のハイトーンボイスに身を委ね、美しいメロディや爽やかなライト・ロックに癒される．．．。そんな昔から不変のスタイルを貫く彼のNewアルバムは、やはり素晴らしい内容に終始していた。これまでのキャリアを存分に味わえるという意味では、彼のベストアルバムかもしれない。12にような彼定番のテンポを持ったロックに始まり、5では魂を込めた深い歌詞を情緒たっぷりに歌い上げる珠玉のバラードを聴かせ、そして日本盤ボーナストラックにデビューアルバムに収録されていた名曲「エンドレス・サマーナイツ」のライブ・ヴァージョンまでも収録！　余すところ無くリチャードの魅力が堪能できる作品であり、間違いなくオススメの一枚だ。
