　RC SUCCESSIONもTHE STREET SLIDERSも第一線で活動していた１３年前（！）に出された前作で一番好きだったのは、ヘヴィなギターリフにのせて強烈なアメリカ批判（湾岸戦争）を痛快に歌ってくれた『アメリカン・フットボール』でした。『ミュージック』や『ガラガラヘビ』も好きでした。偏った思考をしがちだった私のこころを素直にしてくれる爽快なＲ＆ＢとＲ＆Ｒの数々。ライブを仙台（超満員）に観に行き、金色のパイナップルが描かれた深緑色のＴシャツを貰ったことを懐かしく思い出します。

　今作は、「イラク」がインスピレーションになったのかな、と思う曲が多くありますが、チャボの詩のことばが正確で非常に洗練されていて、全体的に普遍的で哲学的です。スッと頭に入ってきて、いろいろなことを真面目に考えさせられます。蘭丸のギターはSlidersぽさがなくなっていますが、新しいグルーヴ感には「さすが！」の一言です。ボーカルもうまく（失礼）なって、以前のような違和感がまったくなく、聞き惚れます。
　アルバムの後半が特に凄いです。

麗蘭というユニットは本来一時的な活動で、アルバムを一枚作ってツアーをやったら解散する予定だったらしい。
それが意に反して、10年以上もの間不定期にではあるが活動を続けてきた。
前作の曲がアルバムを作るために書かれたものだとすると、今作のはまさにライブ活動の中から生まれてきた曲たちであり、よりバンドサウンドが前面に出てきているような気がする。
アルバム全体の世界観はチャボのここ数年のソロアルバム「MY R&R」や「TIME」に近いと感じるのは自分だけだろうか？

収録曲については「R&R Tonight」がとにかくすばらしい。
ロックンロールへの愛情がいっぱいに溢れていて、「あぁ、この人は本当に音楽が好きなんだろうなぁ」などと思いながら何度も何度も聴いてしまう。おすすめです。

前回のアルバムより早１３年。１３年の月日を経てのアルバム！！
音の絡み合い・・・音が深みを更に増していて、鳥肌ものです。昔から聞いていた人も、聞いていなかった人にも幅広く「感じるもの」を与えてくれる。
歌詞にも時代が反映されていたり、世代を超えた一枚ですね。
