ATCQなどにサンプリングされていることで有名なジャズキーボードプレイヤーWeldon Irvine
をYNQのベーシストMonk Hughes（＝MADLIB)がカバーしたアルバムです。
MADLIBに少し飽きてる人もいるかもしれませんが、これは前作のスティービーより
ずっと凄いと思います。いつにも増して浮遊感、透明感のあるエレピ、ドラムの混沌さ具合、
スモーキーなベース・・・・SUN RAを思わせるような宇宙フリージャズです。
ホントぶっ飛びました、無重力空間に。この人は天才ですね。

いつもマッドリブの創造性と行動力には驚かされるばかりですが、これは範疇を越えていました。アーヴィンへのトリヴュートとのことで、よっぽどソウルジャズ的なモノをを想像していましが、全然違いました。音を形容するならコズミックなディープフュージョン+フリージャズといった感じ。アーヴィンのダークな側面と思想を感じられる素晴らしい作品です。現在の所のmadlibの最高傑作か…

この音の前に、言うべきものはない。マッドリブという鬼才が、これからもすばらしい音を作ってくれるのを、ただ待つのみだ。圧倒的な音に、平伏して。
