この作品の魅力は、
　●日差しの強い夏のイタリア・太陽と麦の「黄色」を基調とした美しい風景
　●元気いっぱいな少年たちのさわやかさ
　●少年の視点で明らかにされてゆく、ショッキングな現実
というところでしょうか。

ジャケットやポスターにもある、少年がのぞいている暗い穴。
穴の中に入って行く目線と、「間」のとりかたがうまく、

中盤以降、少し秘密が解けてきても、彼がその穴を覗くたびに観ているこちらまでドキドキします。

ここで描かれている、イタリアの貧富の差に起因する
「ある犯罪」の実態はずっとイタリアの問題のようで、
過去にも全く同じテーマで描かれています。

それほど、こんなことが日常的に行われている、という悲しさも伝えてくれる
重みのある作品です。

その映画が良いかは、最初のシーンである程度判断できると言いますが、私がこの映画を見たとき、まさしく最初のシーンで素晴らしい映画と確信しました。

特に音楽！イタリア映画は「ニュー・シネマ・パラダイス」しかり、美しいメロディーの中にも切なさが漂うあの音楽が不可欠です。「ぼくは怖くない」も御多分に洩れず、素晴らしい音楽が全編にわたって流れます。
内容は少年がある事件をきっかけに大人への第一歩を踏み出す…イタリア版「スタンド・バイ・ミー」といった所でしょうか。

とにかくあの映像にこの音楽、他はなにもいりません！是非観てみて下さい。

青い空と黄金色の麦畑、どこか乾いた色の大地が続く映像はどこかしらエキゾチック。主人公はある廃屋の地下の穴倉に裸の少年が閉じ込められているのを見つける。非常にミステリアスがだ真実は俗っぽいものだった。
子供の純真と勇気と友情、貧しい土地に絶望し悪事に手を染める大人達との対比が、乾いた映像にくっきりと濃い影で浮かび上がる。
残酷でそして良い映画であると思います。
