「赤い鳥」の大ファンでした。ＰＰＭサウンド風のとても洗練されたステキなコーラスに憧れたものです。
解散後、結成された「紙ふうせん」の二人が選曲したこれらの40曲は、この夫婦デュオの長い歴史を飾る軌跡の記録でもありました。温かい愛情が伝わってきます。日本のフォーク・デュオとして一番長く活動しているグループのベスト・アルバムです。いいですね、本当に。

懐かしい「翼をください」を紙ふうせん&フレンズのメンバーの演奏で聞かせてもらいました。サッカーの応援歌として今再び若い方にも親しまれているのは、この曲の持つメッセージの大きさにあると思います。「赤い鳥」のオリジナルの雰囲気を壊さず、曲のイメージを大切にした山本光男のポップなアレンジで、ステキに歌っていました。

「紙風船」も好きな曲です。黒田三郎の言葉を選び抜いた詩にシンプルなメロディとハーモニーをつけた曲ですが、いつ聴いても聞き惚れます。バックコーラスもいいですし、アコースティックな伴奏がまたいいです。

「竹田の子守唄」の冒頭のコーラスには驚かされました。後藤悦治郎の編曲ですが、この曲に対する熱い思いと凄みすら感じました。平山泰代の透明な声は、メロディもオブリガードにもなくてはならないものです。3つめのフレーズは知らない歌詞でしたが、訴えるものがあります。後世に伝えるべき名曲であるのは間違いありません。

20才頃によく聴きました。ＬＰは持っているのですが、やはり昔の思い出の曲をいい音で聴きたくて購入することにしました。”いわさき　ちひろ”さんの絵の大好きでしたので、紙風船の曲とだぶってしまいますね。若い頃が懐かしく思えてしまう年になったんだなぁ(^-^)　今でも歌詞は暗記してますが・・・＾＾
