何かから解き放たれたような、自由で過ごしやすい音楽です。聴いていると、心がゆったりと、しかししっかりと動き出すように感じます。初期の音と前作Quattro路線の音がほどよくミックスされ、心地よさを演出しているのでしょう。また、太陽の接吻のようなアップテンポの曲と追憶のような気だるい雰囲気の漂う曲が違和感なく配列されており、曲順にも細心の注意が払われているように思います。名作TypeIIIからQuattroを経て、paris matchが新境地を切り開いた素敵なアルバムに仕上がっているのではないでしょうか。

限定盤についてくるＤＶＤは、今まで発表された曲をバックに、メンバーがparis matchの音楽について語るという内容です。映像もいいので限定盤を入手する価値はあると思いますが、繰り返し見るようなものではないようにも思われ、人によっては必要ないかもしれません。ＤＶＤの収録時間は約30分で、2枚組プラケースに入っています（通常盤はデジパック仕様）。

パリスマッチはとても多様な曲を創る印象がありますが、
『♭５』はそれがさらに深化しています。
それぞれの曲が、それぞれのベクトルで突き抜けている感じ。
でも全体として統一感を欠いてないところが素晴しく、
聴いていてとても気持ちが好いです。
ボーカルのミズノマリさんも作品を出すごとに
表現力がアップしていて、曲に潤いを与えています。

どこかのリゾートで、ゆっくり、まったり聴きたくなるアルバムです。

パリスマッチのフルアルバムとしては５枚目となるアルバムですが、実に年々成長している様子がうかがえます。それは、これだけ話題になっているのに大ヒット感がないせいでしょうか。特に、お洒落になったな~、という感じがします。会社でかけていても、もの凄く女性の反応がいいのも納得です。あと、ミズノマリさんの声が曲によって乾いたり、やや強めだったりといつも以上にバラエティに富んでいていいです。私としては、『type III』にあったような「cream」のようなベタな楽曲が好きなのですが、まぁそういう泣きの入ったものは他のアーティストでも沢山あるわけですし、パリスマッチならではの魅力を堪能するという意味なら、本作はかなりオススメの作品です。
