   工業デザイナーのパイオニア的存在として知られ、ニューヨーク近代美術館やルーブル美術館などに作品が永久保存されていることでも有名な柳宗理。「柳式デザイン」をキッチンツールやカトラリーにまで広げた製品群は、そのデザイン的な美しさはもちろんのこと、機能性においても高い評価を受けている。

   こちらはステンレス製の穴あきトング。普通のトングとして使えるのに加え、水分や油分が多いものを扱うときには抜群の使いやすさを発揮する。先端部分がギザギザになっている一般的なトングとは一線を画す、柔らかい丸みを帯びたフォルムは柳宗理ならでは。扱いやすいのはもちろんだが、何よりその美しさにほれぼれする。余計な継ぎ目などがない一体成形もポイント。（櫻田もんがい）

概要
 日用雑貨・インテリアから交通システム等の環境構造物までを手がける柳宗理氏は、日本の工業デザインの権威であり、そのデザインはシンプルな中にある優しさやあたたかさが魅力。毎日使うものこそ、美しくかつ機能的でなくてはならないという「用の美」をキッチンウェアで表現。このトングは、パスタから魚のソテー、焼肉、サラダサーバーにと様々な場面で使えるように考えられたモノである。いろいろ試した結果、特化したモノは逆に使いにくいと判断し出来るだけ少ない品種で機能を果たすようにと考えられた。孔開きは製造現場の遊び心で試作段階で出てきたアイデアであり、実際に使用してみて採用することになった。

デザイナーのコメント
 常に素材と技術と向き合いながら使い手のことを考えています。また便利さばかりを追いかけるのではなく、使い手のちょっとした努力で使いやすく長持ちする道具が出来ないかを考えています。デザインとはその結果であります。

ステンレストングを買うときに、穴あきか穴なしか迷いましたが、お店の人に、茹で物をつかむのに良く使うのだったら穴あきの方が良いと薦められて購入しました。
スパゲッティやそうめんをつかむのに、力をいれずにしっかりとつかむことができるので感心してます。つかんだまま、上下に振って水切りをしても、こぼれることがありません。

トングは買ったけど、案外使わない、なんていう話も聞いていて、迷った
のですが、サラダ用に…と1つ購入。

麺類もとり易いと知り、早速試しました。
それ以来、パスタも素麺も一緒盛りの時は、必ずこれが食卓へ。

さんまをひっくり返す時も、ありがたかった。
急いでから揚げを取り上げる時も、1つずつではなく、まとめ持ちが出来、
焦がさずセーフ（…）

洗う時、ノーストレス。
お前、良い仕事してるぅ。
鍋の季節になったら、益々働きそうなアイテム。

ここのクチコミを参考にして穴あきの方を買いました。

穴あきなので汁気もちゃんと切ってくれますし、ギザギザしている物と違い
麺類を取るときに取り逃がすストレスもなければ食材を傷つけにくくなりました。
パスタが穴から逃げるかと心配していましたが今のところそれもありません。

ちなみにとがっている方を先端にする（写真と逆向きにする）と
細かい物もとりやすくなりました。

ただ、そんなに長さがないのに炒める時にも使おうとしたら
熱い思いをしました。
