　香港映画史上最強の悪役東方不敗を愉しむ作品。
　世紀を吸って太る任我行、東方不敗の変な日本語、猿飛のウキキ、服部の連続斬りだ、石庭のつもりで砂に描いた楕円など、笑うポイント多々ながら、最も笑うのが東方不敗の強さ。人が吹飛ぶ、城塞を破壊する、とまるで漫画、実写版ドラゴンボール。
　ある意味原作を超えている。

１０年程前に一度見ただけですが強烈な印象が残ってます。冒頭の東方不敗の登場シーンからグイグイと見るものを惹きつけます。敵の大将の首をブッタ切り大空を舞いながら
「トンポンプンパ~イ（←発音いい加減です）」と絶叫するシーンにまずど肝を抜かれます。そしてブジリット・リンの妖艶な美しさ！
ローゼンリッターさんのレビューにあったように仮面の忍者赤影に匹敵する荒唐無稽なブッ飛んだ面白さがあります。万人に勧められる名作ではありませんが個人的には傑作だと思います。

原作は武侠小説の雄・金庸の「笑傲江湖｣。前編「スウォーズマン　剣士列伝｣で監督を務めたツイ・ハークがプロデュース。1992年の作品。出演者はジェット・リー／ブリジット・リン／ロザムンド・クァン／ミッシェル・リー／ヤム・サイクン／ラウ・シュン　

日月教の教祖となった東方不敗は日本の服部軍と結託し朝廷転覆を企てていた。酒好き、女好き（？）の剣士・リンは、無情な戦乱の世をきらい隠遁地を求め牛背山へ向かっていたが……

バリバリのワイヤーアクション映画です。「スウォーズマン」三部作のうちの二作目ですが、前編を見ていなくても内容は掴めます。

みどころは、人間業とは思えない秘術の数々。忍者も登場！あやしげな日本語（聞きどころです）も！剣士・リンの甘くせつない（？）ロマンス。
「HERO　英雄」の時とは一味違うジェット・リーに会えます。
