随分昔にこの曲に出会いました、２５年以上前の話です。ラジオから流れてきたのがこの曲Reflection。Pentangleに関してはラジオで流れることもほとんどなく、レコード屋にも置いてなく、イギリスまで彼らのすべてのLPを注文したのを覚えています。
このCDタイトルと同じ名前のReflectionが聞けるだけでこのCDは価値があります。フォーク畑の二人のギタリストBert Janschそして、John Renbourn,　Jazz畑のドラムとベースTerry CoxそしてDanny Thompson、そして、とても声の澄み切ったブルース畑のJacqui McSheeの５人組。

5.0 out of 5 stars ブリティシュ・トラッド・フォークロックの最高峰！, 2004/10/6
ロック界の有名ギタリスト達にも多大な影響を与えた「バート・ヤンシュ」「ジョン・レンボーン」の2大ギタリストが在籍した事でも有名な「ペンタングル」の5作目のアルバム（記憶が正しければラストアルバム？）しかも紙ジャケ仕様。トラッド色は今までより抑えめで、どちらかと言えばアメリカでのマーケットを意識したロック色が強く出たアルバムです。だからと言ってハードな音作りではなく、澄みきったボーカル、相変わらずの超絶技巧ギターのかけあいも健在。私の中ではある意味プログレなアルバムです。彼らを知る上でトラッド色の強い名盤「クルエルシスター」も是非聴いて頂きたいです。

　トラディッショナル曲の"Wedding Dress", "Omie Wises", "Will the circle be unbroken?", "Rain and snow"、そしてフォークロックといえる"When I get home", アドリブ部分でJazzを強く意識させる"so clear", そして本アルバムのタイトル曲となっている"Reflection"、フォークブルース(Pentangle独自のサウンドですが)を意識させます。
　Jacqui McSheeの淡々と歌う"Will the circle be unbroken?"は私の記憶回路に刻み込まれているようです。
