9月で「メンバーの更なる進化のため解散」が決定されたLaputaの
後期の「楽園」から「Material Pleasures」までの楽曲で構成されたBEST。
後期は（初期にもデジタル要素はありましたが）
デジタル要素や打ち込みを惜しみなく導入し、
テクノやダンスビートを多く含んだ作品が多くなったため、
初期のダークで激しいLaputaが好きなファンにとっては

非難される存在になってしまっていましたが、
楽曲的には非常にクオリティの高い作品を提供し続けていました。
後期の路線でも好きだった私にとっては、解散は非常に悲しいです・・・
せめてもう一枚フルアルバムを出して欲しかった。

選曲的に1枚という事で、少々少ない感を感じます。
2枚組みにして欲しかった。

しかし、クラウン期に出たPVを収めたDVDが付いてくるのは
非常に嬉しいところ。

後期Laputaの集大成BEST。
「後期は評判がよろしくないから・・・」と敬遠していたLaputaファンにお薦めです。

正直、日本クラウンに移籍してからのLaputaの音楽を、殆ど聴いた事が無かった。
しかしこの解散を機にと、このアルバムを購入。
そして私はびっくりした。
こんなにも綺麗な世界を描いていたなんて！
もともとクラシックな曲調で聴く者を魅了するバンドだっていう事は十分知っていた。
それがデジタルなテクノ音がメインになり、こんな、まるで宝石箱のようなきらびやかな音楽が生まれたのだろう。
しかも、どの曲も音の一つ一つが繊細だから、上品で派手すぎない。
「もっと早くに新生Laputaに出会いたかった…」。
そう後悔しても、もう遅い。

最後の「Kiss in the Clouds」はJunjiが「入れて欲しい」と言ったのだという。
それを思うと、「どうせいつかは忘れる　思い出すこともないさ…」という歌詞が、妙に意味深に思えてしまうのは私だけだろうか。

インディーズ〜麝香迄は聴いていたが、久しぶりに聴きたくなり今作を購入しました。中期より変化の兆しは見えていたが、ここまで良くなっているとは思っていなかったので驚いた。元々演奏力も高いバンドではあったがデジタルとの融合により更に進化、ハイクオリティの楽曲が目白押しだ。彼らのイメージを具現化する力は半端では無い。限られたイメージにカテゴライズされるのは非常に勿体無いバンド。解散は惜しい。
