   2D&3DCGを駆使したアクションファンタジーアニメーション。企画制作を、『青の六号』のGONZOが担当しており、その技術、迫力の高さは保証付き。
   敵国デュシスと戦争状態にある国アナトレーに住み、小型飛行艇ヴァンシップを繰って空の配達人をしているクラウス・ヴァルカ。しかし、ある日、アルヴィスという少女を空中戦艦に送る仕事を引き受けたことから、クラウスたちははるか上空で繰り広げられる戦争に巻き込まれていく。
 「審判」が登場するなど、ここでの戦争はルールに則ったものという設定がおもしろい。当然ながら発生する「（戦争の）ルール違反」により、戦いが激化していくなか、クラウスをはじめとする若者たちの成長する過程が描かれる。（田中 元）

　２６話完結にしては、最後を急ぎすぎたような気が。ラスト１０分前まで本当はもう一枚出すつもりなのかしらん？と本気で思ってしまった。ディーオにしても、ここまで大切に扱ってきたキャラなんだからもう少し（同じ結論であっても）やりようがあるように思えてならない。

ハイクオリティ・アニメの最終回ということで楽しみにしてましたが、
よく言われているように最終話での急ぎ足の展開と
それによる素っ気無いほどの人物描写は残念でした。
特にディーオとルシオラについては
もっと掘り下げられたんじゃないかと思うので悔やまれます。
シリーズ前半は割と遅めの展開だったので、
もっとテンポ良く進めていってせめて最終話の内容は
２話に分けて描いてほしかったと思います。

全編通してそれなりには面白かったですが、
映像以外に特別優れた部分が無いのも事実。
脚本のいまいちさはずっと目につきました。
見ても損はしないと思いますが、
特にオススメは出来ない作品です。

全巻購入して鑑賞いたしました。ＴＶで放映していたものをあえて買ったのは、今後の作品をさらに応援したい気持ちからです。

全体としてはテーマ、シナリオ、作画、音楽とも満足の行く作品だったと思います。

13巻では、物語の終末に向けて、幾重もの筋が主人公たちの行動に集約していきます。そして本編の謎は次第に解かれ、登場人物たちの命運が定まります。

重要人物の扱いが最後に少し粗末だけど、これはこういうものだと考えるとします。世間ではそこにこの作品の賛否が集中しているような気がしますが、その一点ばかりを見て、全体のクォリティを見損なうのは勿体無いですしね。
