この作品は乙一さんの小説をブロードバンド映画化したものだ。
乙一氏の作品が映像化するのは初めてのことだったので、かなり期待をもって見た。
期待は見事に裏切られた｡

恐らく規定の長さに合わせる為なのだろう、無駄なエピソードが盛り込まれすぎていて原作の世界観が全く生かされていない。これなら初期設定もいらないように思えてくる｡

しかも、話の流れが冗長で眠くなった｡
あくまでも原作と比較してどうだ、という話なのだが。

しかし原作と比較せずに一本の映画として見れば、ある程度は楽しめる。
だが、私としては原作のほうに魅力を感じる｡

まず最初の数分で飽きた。そして次に思ったのが何だこれ!?と言う思いと乙一さんを侮辱してるんじゃないかと怒りさえ覚えるような内容でした。乙一さんの作品を映像化するのは小説読んでても難しいとは思ってましたが、ここまでひどいのは乙一さんファンに喧嘩を売ってるようにしか思えませんでした。まず原作と話が変わって違う作品になってたし、小説の方ではしんみりしつつ、ミステリアスな内容に対してこちらの作品はただの笑い話の様になってました。緊迫する場面で笑いを誘うようなものになっていたり、原作に全然無い設定があったりともうメチャクチャでした。まだまだ言いたいことがありますが、他に類を見ない駄作。これだけは言いたいと思います。

乙一原作、犬童一心監督、寺島進出演。と、自分の好きな人が三拍子揃ったこの映画。この言葉だけでたとえどんな映画でも絶対オモシロいと思わせてくれましたね。買う価値アリです。この三人が揃って面白くないわけがない。
