映画「誰も知らない」の挿入歌”宝石”が収録されています。
宣伝などでよく流れていたので耳にされた方も多いと思います。（ピアノの旋律に女性の歌声がとつとつと流れているのがそうです）

主題歌ではないのですが、静かな曲調が気に入って購入しました。
”宝石”目当てに購入しましたが、それ以外の６曲も大きなハズレも無く良い感じだと思います。

全７曲のほとんどの作詞・作曲を本人がしているだけあって雰囲気（静かで素朴なメロディー、高過ぎず低過ぎない歌声、切なさと懐かしさなど）や方向性が統一されてるのが好印象です。

３番の”女の子”だけ他のものと少し毛色が違い、壊れたオルゴールと音のはずれたピアノというイントロで、シャンソン？を思わせるような物憂げな歌声がテンポよく弾んで面白い仕上がり。
基本的にピアノ（本人演奏）と歌声のみの構成なので、ジャカジャカした感じのものが多い昨今ではホッとして聴く事ができます。

日本に古くからある童謡を彷彿とさせる優しいメロディーに、クラシックを思わせる盛り上げ方をチラリと入れたりしてうまくまとめてあります。
「日本人にしかこの感じは作れないだろうな」と思わせる和風っぽさが、このアルバムの最大の特徴だと思います。

7つの曲から、タテタカコの透明な情熱が伝わってくる。

『宝石』では、思春期の心が歌われているように思う。
からっぽで、鋭くて、冷たくて、何でも敏感に取り込んで、
どこまでもまっすぐな心。
大人がこの曲で心を動かされるなら、必死に生きる意味を考えていた頃の、
透明な気持ちを思い出すからだろう。

『あの人』は、自分が一人ぼっちだと感じても、
うしろに必ずあなたの味方がいるよと、静かに教えてくれる曲。
聞くものを説得するような歌詞ではないのに、
確かなメッセージが感じられる。
人生で廻り道をしても、冷たい涙を何度流しても、後悔しなくていい。
一人ぼっちではないのだから。
・・
タテタカコの曲は、歌詞カードを見ながら聴いてみたい。
感情を訴えるようなあからさまな歌詞はどこにもないが、
自然に、心の中で何かのスイッチがオンになってしまう。

多感な少女の心がむき出しの状態であるようです。それはもう痛いほどです。高く透明な声が心に突き刺さってきます。若く荒削りなところもありますが、それも又良しです。
