七ツ谷ゆみは65年生まれ。大阪音大で学んだ後、ジャズにも傾倒し、96年から作曲も始めた。スペインの作曲家、モンポウに影響を受けたシンプルで美しいメロディ・ラインに、日本のテイストも加味した静謐でひそやかな音楽。

2003年に自主制作したアルバムに新録1曲を追加した大阪在住のピアニスト、七ッ谷(ななつたに)ゆみの正式なデビュー作で、全11曲すべて本人の作曲。繊細で、それでいてたしかな意志を感じさせるタッチで演奏される楽曲はどれもみな美しく、しっとりと叙情豊かな音楽を奏でている。自宅のスタジオで録音された曲もあり、それらには雷雨の音や鳥の鳴き声も収録されているが、自然の効果音としてアルバム全体にいいアクセントを与えている。リラクゼーション作用にも優れたこの一枚。ピアノ音楽が好きな人には絶対お薦め。 (飯塚達弘) --- 2004年09月号
