   ポリシックスのキーボーディスト、KAYOの初のソロ・アルバム。曲ごとに異なる豪華ゲストが参加した多彩な作品で、特に注目は松本隆・細野晴臣の黄金コンビによる書き下ろし新曲のタイトル曲だろう。田舎の女子高生をテーマにした歌詞を、KAYOがナチュラルな声で伸びやかに歌い、さわやかな青春歌謡に仕上げるという大胆なアプローチだ。

   このほかポリのハヤシによるテクノ歌謡「ミドリポップで」、KAYO自身の手による軽快ポップス「僕たちの時間」など、溌剌とした歌声の歌謡曲~ガールズ・ポップ的な曲が並ぶ。ポリでの彼女はエキセントリックなイメージだったが、今回は正反対といえるくらいキュートで清楚なキャラに徹していて、その変身ぶり（演技ぶり？）が鮮やかな好企画盤。（小山 守）

何回も聴いているうちにとても好きになりました。ポリシックスの時と少し歌い方が違うような気もするけどそんなことはどっちでもいいです。曲はまあ普通な感じで際立つ派手さみたいなものはないのだけれど、かよさんの素晴らしい歌声に鳥肌が立つくらいです。彼女の歌声が曲をよくしている。何かさみしげでだけど透き通るような女の子らしい歌声はすごく美しい。かよさんは歌い手としても一流だと思います。ぜひまたソロ曲を歌ってほしいと思います。

POLYSICSのKAYOがソロデビューということでさっそく購入してみました。

まずジャケットからびっくり!普段のポリからイメージするKAYOちゃんとはまったく違う!!そして音にもびっくり!!松本×細野コンビの作品ということなので、ポリとは全然違うんだろうなぁ、とある程度は予想していたもののここまで違うとは!!タイトル曲「三つ編みヒロイン」はどことなく懐かしい昔聴いた歌謡曲を思い出しつつも、ポリのハヤシくんのアレンジによって今らしさもちゃんとでている。更にKAYOちゃんのかわいい声と透明感に脱帽。とってもGirllieでCuteなアルバムでした。
これはポリファンでもそうじゃなくても聴いて間違いないアルバムだと思います。

　まさに珠玉のポップス集と言いたくなる内容です。巨匠細野晴臣さん,松本隆さんによる表題曲にはじまり,リズミカルで楽しげな雰囲気が伝わってくる3曲目,80年代の日本のテクノポップを思わせるキュートな4曲目といったオリジナル曲も,ゆったりとした空気が流れる2曲目,大滝詠一さんの名曲である5曲目といったカヴァー曲も特筆すべき出来です。そしてなんとも涼しげなKAYOさんの声が耳に心地良いです。

ポリシックスのようなアルバムを期待してたら、あっさり裏切られました。正統派の女性Voモノとして、良く出来ていると思います。
ただ、5曲入りで高すぎ。
