   亡くなったはずの最愛の妻から届いた手紙。そこには、2人の思い出の場所「サイレントヒル」で待っていると記されていた。動揺と混乱を隠せない主人公ジェームスは、導かれるように霧と森に包まれた静かな町へと向かうのだった……。

 『サイレントヒル2 最期の詩』の最大の特徴は、登場人物の1人である「マリア」を新しいマップ内で操作できるサブシナリオが追加されたこと。これによりジェームスとアリアの関係ほか、『サイレントヒル2』の新たな側面が語られることになる。（西 正行）

私はサイレントヒル3をプレイした後に2をプレイしました。私的に3より2の方が怖く感じられました。なんというか、3では表と裏世界のギャップが強いのですが2では曖昧なので逆にそれが不気味さを煽っている気がしました。一見普通っぽいのに壁に血がついている…それはそれで怖いと思います。私が一番怖かったのは三角頭に追い掛けられたときです。角を曲がった時に三角頭を発見してびっくりしたのなんの(笑

難易度はビギナーからハードまでどのレベルの人でも楽しめるようになってます。途中でマリアもついてくるのですが、敵にやられないよう体力の確認の為、マリアを攻撃したことがあります(笑)見事に殺してしまいましたが(みんなはやらないでね)。不満は主人公のスタミナが切れるのが若干早い(汗

ストーリーは深いです。
最後泣きそうになりました。内容は総合的に面白いのですが、これがなかなか怖くて(汗
一度クリアして隠し武器入手した後進んでません(笑
3は何回も出来たのに…
最後に、3と違い敵(血だまり)を踏む、一部の武器で攻撃すると、血飛沫が結構すごい(?)ので注意してください。

怖さ、演出、シナリオと、３や４を超えた最高のサイレントヒルです。ストーリーは実に深いです。大人のストーリーと言うべきですか。単純に敵を倒すものではないです。そう言うのを望む人にはつまらなく感じるかもしれませんが･･･。怖さもシリーズ最高峰だったと思います。病院とか、監獄とか、とにかく怖い。牢の奥の謎の敵、通称「プリズナー」なんか、今だに言いようの無い恐怖を感じています。
１〜４と全てプレイしましたが、やっぱり一番良いのは２です。個人的な不満点は、マリア編に登場する敵の種類が少なかった事でしょうか。いやいや、そんな不満点などなんのその。やっぱりあるんですね。ギャグエンドが。なんとこの最期の詩バージョンには二種類も！「UFOEND」は１とほぼ同じ内容ですが、このゲーム最大のイベント「いぬEND」は･･･言葉に言い表せません。とにかくぶっ飛び過ぎです。今までの苦労や恐怖感が全て消し飛ぶ事間違い無しです。

サイレントヒルは2が初めてでした。バイオハザードは1・2はしたことがあったので、ホラーゲームは初めてでは無いです。なので最初のほうはたしかに色々苛立つ事もありあしたが・・

雰囲気づくりがすごく上手いのでいい感じに怖がらされました。バイオとは反対の位置にあるゲームです。圧倒的に敵の数も少ない。でも他の方もおっしゃってましたが、それもちゃんと意味があるわけで、ゾンビになった人間が襲い掛かってくるのとは訳が違う。だからあんだけ弱くても最後で「ああ、そういう事か」と納得できます。

だからこのゲームは人を選ぶのかもしれません。雰囲気を怖がるものですから。ただ、クソゲーは言い過ぎです（笑）
