Album Description

Platinum recording artists Fastball return with their Rykodisc debut Keep Your Wig On, their loosest and strongest collection yet. Recorded at Viewpoint Studios in Austin, the bulk of the album was produced by Mike McCarthy (Spoon), with production contributions from Sheryl Crow songwriter Jeff Trott ("Our Misunderstanding") and Fountains of Waynes Adam Schlesinger ("Someday," "Red Light"). The album was mixed by the legendary Bob Clearmountain.

セカンド、サードが好きな人なら、まず聴いて間違いのないファストボールの４枚目。メロディーについては、枚数を重ねるごとにポップ寄りに傾きつつあります。とは言っても媚びてベタベタではなく、切れ味のあるフックが効いていて飽きが来ないのが良いです。風格がついてきたのか、ある種「これくらい余裕だぜ」な感じがちょっとニクい気もしますが、歌詞もメロディーもアレンジもヴォーカルも、文句なく一級品なので、聴く側としては否応なくノリノリになるしかありません。
シニカルなポップソングが好きな人（コステロとかXTCとか）にもっと聴かれてもいいバンドだと思います。もちろんビートルズが好きな人にも。

　サードアルバムから随分待ちました。ベスト盤があいだに出た時
には、もう終わったと思って嘆いていましたが、やっぱりいいですね！
オーシャンほどの名曲はありませんが、ノスタルジックな感じがGOOD!!
ビートルズが好きな人には絶対おすすめです。ただこのアルバムは
やはりセカンドアルバム、サードアルバムを聞いてこそ生きてくる

ものだと思います。FastBallを知らない人は是非、Way、オーシャン
だけでも聞いて下さい、間違いなく好きになるはずです！
さらにオーシャンなら日本のカラオケでも歌えます!!
　…??あんまりこのCDの評価になってないですね、ごめんなさい。
もちろんFastBall好きなら買うべきですよ!!曲は心を癒してくれるし、
なんと言っても、値段が超お買い得です!!!

2nd収録の「the way」みたいなずばぬけたシングルヒット曲候補はないけど
トータルでアルバムきくならこれが一番好き！すんごく好き！
何故、この作品が日本未発売なのか全く納得できないよ~~~
