英国スカ界の重鎮トロンボーニスト、リコ・ロドリゲスが77年、アイランドから発表した名作と、その続編として録音されながらオクラになってた9曲(宇宙音や怪しげなセリフの絡む「スター・ウォーズ」のカヴァーも)。ダブ感、不良感が実に渋い。

まるでリコ・ロドリゲスを始めとするバンドメンバー全員の音楽とラスタファリズムに対する純粋で真摯な思いが凝縮され硬い結晶として生まれたような、メロディーもアレンジも演奏も非常に美しい一枚です。
どの曲もピンと張り詰めた緊張感がありながらも、逆に聴いてる人の心をじんわり揺さ振り体全体が弛緩するような感覚に陥ります。

私と同じくアナログを持っている方も多いでしょうが半分がボーナストラックで（14：TAKE FIVEのアレンジ最高だなあ）2曲が初CD化という事でCDも絶対買い！です。扱い易いし。（MUTE BEAT好きなら是非）

まず、聞いて驚くのが、深く、清い、トロンボーンの響き。リコという人物の音楽対する素直さが見えるようで本当に見事です。この音を聞くだけでも嬉しくなります。それにかけてメンバーとの息のあった演奏。これがラスタ・ファライズの世界観なのかしら。ザイオン、それはこの音の中にあるのだろうと思うほどの幸福なレゲエ。後半曲のVan Halen のYou Really Got MeやSTAR WARSのカヴァー等バラエティにとんだ作品もリコ音楽の幅を聞かせてくれています。うーん、やっぱり、最高だわ、この一枚。
