目だったのはスチュワート・タウンゼントですね。周りは豪華そのものの配役陣。もうこれには文句のつけようがない。ストーリーについては、これまたよく練られており、使い古した言葉ながら「どんでん返し」の妙を１００％楽しめる。一攫千金を狙う3人の男女、ガブリエル・バーン、スチュワート・タウンゼント、サンディ・ニュートンの関係が一見協力関係に見えて実は「三角関係」だったり、信頼関係ゼロだったり・・・。そこがミソ。
やはり「ラウンダーズ」がチラッとアタマを過ります。監督・脚本を担当したダミアン・ニーマンは、ポーカーで自分自身プロ級の腕前を持っており、本物に近い動きを役者たちに手ほどきをしたとの事。そんなこともあるからでしょうか、内容を含めてこちらの方が「一段上の本格的な大人のギャンブラー」の話です。「メカニック」という言葉、初めて知りました。
特典映像として「メイキング映像」がありますが、メインメニュー画面に注目して見てください。結構面白い撮影風景が繰り広げられています。

「シンシナティ・キッド」とか、詐欺と言う意味では「スティング」などには到底及ばない。まぁ、ストーリーはそこそこ面白いです。でも、スタローンが伝説のギャンブラーに、どうしても見えないし、あの太い指で「華麗なカード捌き」というのもの違和感バリバリ。(笑)　メラニー・グリフィスとキメポーズショットをストーリーに関係なくやっちゃうのには、かえってニヤリとさせられたけどね。サンディ・ニュートンにあんまり魅力を感じないし、ガブリエル・バーンもイマイチパッとしない。

至れり尽くせりの俳優陣です。
ここまで豪華だと映画の内容なんか、どうでもいいと言いたくなりますが、
内容もギャンブルにマフィアがからんで七転八倒、騙したり騙されたりのどんでん返しで
意外なストーリー展開に引き込まれます。
