アウトサイダーやランブルフィッシュでのやんちゃなイメージの強いマット・ディロンが、
こんなに繊細役を演じているのはこれだけじゃないでしょうか？
やっとＤＶＤ化…最高に嬉しいです！

住む場所をなくした二人が出会い、共に「自分たちの住む場所」を持つことを夢に見る。

繊細すぎるがゆえに周囲から身を守れないでいるマシューと、タフに優しく彼を支えるジュリー。
この二人が少しずつ打ち解け、夢に向かって歩き出す様は本当に胸が熱くなります。
途中に描かれる彼らの友人の悲劇や施設の様子なども程よくリアル。
かなり前の作品ですが未だに忘れられません。

マシューの撮った写真が宙を舞うシーンなんて感動で泣きすぎました。
綺麗な者ほど生きにくい…割れた瓶や新聞の錯乱する乾いた街の様子も、そんなマシューを暗に示唆してるようで素晴らしい。
それから邦題に拍手を♪「聖者の眠る街」…作品をすごく良く表してる。
是非一度は観て欲しい作品。

大都会の中で出会った２人の男の間に起こったささやかな奇跡を描くヒューマン・ドラマ。 出演は、マット・ディロン、ダニー・グローヴァーほか。

温かい優しさを感じた一作。
いかにもハリウッド映画のお涙頂戴感動モノとは違いました。
程よいリアル感もあります。
前はレンタルして観たんですけどぜひもう１度観たいです、
DVDでの発売楽しみです。

主人公は心に障害を持った青年マシュー、アパートが壊されて家を無くしたことから彼の悲劇は始まる。家族にも見放されたマシューは、当然のようにホームレスに。
彼はホームレスの収容所で、もう一人の主人公の黒人ジュリーと出会う。
ジュリーは、マシューの心優しい行動を見て彼に関心を持つ。

ホームレスの収容所は心優しいマシューにとって地獄だったが、ベトナム帰りのジュリーは
その戦闘能力を生かしてマシューを守るのだった。

二人は一緒に商売をして自立した生活する為に頑張るのだが・・・・
最後に「おまえは私の息子だ・・・」には泣けた、是非、皆さんにも見て欲しい作品です。
アメリカ流の行過ぎた競争社会は人を幸せにしないという事も描いてるかと思います。
