   サンフランシスコ近郊の漁村で、新聞社社長令嬢メラニー（ティッピー・ヘドレン）が1羽のカモメに額をつつかれた。そして翌日、カモメの大群など多数の鳥たちが人間に向かって襲いかかっていく…。
   ある日突然、理由もなく鳥が人間を襲うという、鳥が大の苦手というアルフレッド・ヒッチコック監督ならではの奇抜な発想で送るパニック・スリラー映画。原作はダフネ・デュ・モーリアの短編小説だが、実際に鳥が人間を襲った事件を多数リサーチした上での映画化でもあり、撮影には2万8000匹の鳥が用いられているが、いつかこの世が鳥に支配されるのでは？と思わせるような終末観にも満ちあふれている。ヒッチコックは本作のテーマを「自然は復しゅうする」だと語っている。（的田也寸志）

過度な残虐さやグロテスクの無い、でも心理的にドキドキハラハラさせてくれる、本当に皆様がおっしゃる通り、自分までが繰り返す必要も無い、これぞパニック物の古典名作。
古びた小さな漁村が舞台ですが、飽きの来ない静かな美しい情操的作品です。
出てくるのも古典的な美男美女で目の保養になり、洒落たファッション、洒落た会話が楽しめる品の良い作品です。
（監督のカメオ出演も楽しい。）
本物の鳥の、本物の訳の解らなさ、説明の無さが良い。
やはり一度は是非観るべき作品だと思います。

ヒッチコック作品で、初めて見たのがこの｢鳥｣でした。
そしてその後、ヒッチコックワールドにハマるほど・・。
怖いです(^-^;)でも、ホラーのような怖さではなく、ヒッチコック独特の
心理描写を使った怖さ。だから、余計こわい・・ｗ
逆に、脳裏から離れない怖さかもしれません。

　ヒッチコック監督の超有名な映画で、これ以降のパニック映画に計り知れない影響を与えた金字塔です。
　ひょんな事から知り合ったミッチという男性に会うため、サンフランシスコから少し離れた村へやってきたメラニー、そこで彼女は何の理由もなく一匹のかもめに襲われ、頭に怪我をする。そしてその翌日から、鳥の大群が次々と村の人々を襲い始めるようになる。人々は理由もわからずただ逃げ惑うが・・・
　この映画に描かれている物語は大まかに分けて二つあります。一つは人間を鳥が襲うというもの、そしてもう一つはメラニーとミッチを中心とする人間模様です。この『鳥』という映画の中では、これら二つのストーリーが一つの映画に同居していながら、全く関係を持っていないんですね。そして、この無関係な感じが実に良いのです。人間の生活などとは全く無関係に、ただひたすら無情に襲ってくる鳥。この鳥の無機質な感じが、人間にはどうすることも出来無いという恐怖をさらに強調しています。
　公開されたのは１９６３年なので、当然ＣＧや画像処理も今のような技術は無かったわけですが、それでも２８０００羽という本物の鳥と巧みな合成技術によって、今見ても十分に見応えのある仕上がりになっています。
