　いまどきの音楽のおいしい所をたくさん拾いあげたようないい意味でよくできたアルバム。衝動が走る系統のものではないにせよ、良く練れたいいメロディーと聴き手に不快感をいっさい与えない清々しさがある。ただ、クセがないので引っ掛かりがなく、やもすれば時間と共にいつの間にか忘れ去られるような、過去にもこの手のいいバンドが煮え湯を飲まされることを見せられることが多かっただけに、この手のバンドはぱっと流行ることなく、時道に自力を貯えホントに受け入れられるバンドとなって欲しいと切に思います。聴き手にはこういういいメロディーで感動を得たい音楽ファンもいることですし。

Snow~ Patrol、このアルバムでメジャーデビューするスコットランド出身のバンドです。といっても、メンバー自体は、北アイルランド出身です。

全体的に、きれいなメロディが根底にあり、とても聴きやすくし上がっています。またボーカルのささやくような歌声もきれいなメロディを際立たせていると思います。ギターのざらつくようなサウンドで疾走感あふれるナンバ~~ーと対比するようなきれいなバラードのギャップが面白い作品でもあります。

プロデューサーにダンス畑の人を起用したせいか、ところどころに、踊れる雰囲気を醸し出しているのもとても新鮮でした。

iTunesをもっていれば、iTunes Music StoreのMusic Videoのコーナーで彼らのSpitting Gameのヴィデオが見れるので聴いてみるといいと思います。~

UKからでたUKらしい作品。完成度も高く、ひじょうに聴きやすい。トラヴィス、コールドプレイと同様にアメリカでもヒットしそうな勢いがある。エモーショナルな楽曲にいい具合に電子音が交わる。この微妙なバランスが独特な癖を生み出している。だが完成度が高すぎて、隙がないところに妙な安定感が生まれてしまっているが、それを差し引いても2003を代表するUKロックに仕上がっています。
